I am writing to introduce myself and express my interest in joining Bain and
Company as an Associate Consultant upon graduating from Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT) Bombay in June 2015 with a Masters Degree (Dual Degree) in
Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science.
Looking for variety and challenges in everyday work life, after considering the
various career options in front of me, I see consulting as the best choice where I
can make a difference. A career in consulting will give me a rare opportunity to
work across diverse industries. Facing the toughest challenges in the form of
delicately complex client problems would give me an intellectually stimulating
work life helping me to develop strong business acumen and an array of other
qualities.
I am excited by the strong potential fit I see with Bain & Company.
Being the founder of Adimation, an enterprise that provides animation
advertisements to make digital media branding accessible and affordable for
start-ups, I worked as the talent acquisition head trying to procure some best
minds in this field so that we can deliver the best to our customers. This has
inculcated in me a strong business understanding as well as a humanitarian
perspective to look at things. These are some of my valuable experiences which I
believe have helped me hone my skills to ensure success in a consulting career.
In my internship experience at HEG LTD(June13) , I worked in a team to
successfully articulate analytical models to monitor graphite performance,
resulting in significant yield gains and paved way to further the research .
The position of Overall Assessment Coordinator helped me enhance my
persuasive & management skills .I had to work with assessment firms on one
side & had to handle 1600 students on the other side this begin the first step
towards preparing the students for the placements. My results driven attitude
helped me achieve 50% reduction in the process for completion of assessments.
As an Events Manager of Padarth, Indias Largest Material Science Festival, I
brought a new perspective to the way events were conceptualised and
introduced informal section for the first time which helped increase the footfall as
well as participation for various events. I also had a unique experience of
conceptualizing the social campaign Liter of Light, an initiative taken by our
Padarth team, in which we provided novel cost effective lighting solution across 5
major slums in Mumbai, currently impacting lives of more than 300 people.
Being a film enthusiast, I have won awards in many national & international short
film making competitions and also lead the film club. During the tenure I got a
chance to get in touch with many film industry stalwarts and brought a few of
them to IIT. I helped the beginners as well as good filmmakers , which led the
club to win 4 international awards & 10 national awards.
I have interacted with Bainees and I believe that at Bain & Company, people in
your team are more than your colleagues. They would deliver excellent results
and showcase high performance, while maintaining an incredibly strong sense of
a team where no one allows other to fail.

This is what sets Bain & Company apart from other countless firms and thus the
reason for my interest in it.
