Many high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed

countries is more than 50 per cent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of
these positions to women. To what extent do you agree?
Nowaday, in many developed countries although the number of men in workforce are less than a half, they tend to
hold many important positions. Many people are interested in requiring these companies to offer some high-level seat
for women. In my oppinion, women rights in present are supported more than it used to be in the past, but this is
really a mistake to decide someones business not basing on their talent and charateristics.
In the first place, the modern females have proved that they are available to be sucessful in their lives as much as the
men can. In fact, many women have strong affect in the world such as Madonna and Celine Dione, two of the most
popular singers, Maryline Monroe, a very great actor and the symbol of beauty, Hillary Clinton, a very famous pollitics
and going to be candidates for the Head of White House. Thus, it is terrible wrong to acknowledge females on a
lower-level in society.
In the other place, it is not true to arrange leading system of a company becoming 50:50 on each sexual for
demonstrating womens right. Director board are better to give jobs positions to someones depending on their
abillities and desires. This is unable to ask a woman leading a group to work with some kinds of heavy or dangerous
things as well as require a man doing something needs smoothy and clever.
In conclusion, the heads of a company should give people both males and females a chance to prove themself
suitable for key factors in their group or not before giving decision
Nowsaday, although the number of men in the workforce in many developed countries is less than a half, they tend to
hold many important positions in big companies. Many people may consider proposing these companies to offer highlevel positions to women. In my opinion, women rights are supported more strongly than it was in the past; and I think
it is a real mistake to select certain candidates for certain jobs without considering their skills or capabilities.
In the first place, women in the modern time have proved they are able to succeed in life the same as men. In fact,
many women around the world have made strong influence in their own field such as Madonna and Celine Dion - two
of the most popular singers, Marilyn Monroe - a great actress and the symbol of beauty or Hilary Clinton - a famous
politician and potential candidates for Head of the White House. Thus, it would be totally unfair that women are just
acknowledged at a very low level in our society.
In the other place, it is also unreasonable to divide a companys leading board by equal rate for both genders in
support of women rights. Managing board should assign jobs to suitable people in careful consideration of their
abilities and experience. So, it would be unwise to ask a woman to lead a group for some work that concerns heavy
equipments or physically-demanding tasks or to require a man to perform a job that needs handiness and
cleverness...
In conclusion, heads of companies should give equal chances to both men and women to prove they are appropriate
for the job instead of making decision based on their genders.
The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave.
However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern
life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
My parents ussually told me to think carrefully before performing a gesture but apart of me love to live on my ways
without considering anyone thoughts and their judgements. Although the elders are true to say that someones
behaviors show their own characteristics, I believe sometimes people need to be released from the chains of societys
standards and enjoy their life by the way they are.
In the first place, people who have good looking, clever and well-educated are easier to success. In fact, ugly actors
and actress are unpopular to become famous as well as politicians with bad behaviors are difficulte to be elected
because important positions in society, which often get noticed by public, shoud be assigned to suitable candidates in
carefull selection of their abilities and personalities. In my oppinion, besides bad lucks and wrong steps, life losers
tradditional have bad characteritics and were defeated by long-established principles.

In the other place, the life is always hard and stressfull and people need a times to relax and feel free. We are familiar
with rules since children and they become customs when we grow up. And in the workplace, we are tired of the
others comments, I think anyone of us sometimes wish to come a place with all strangers, so that, we are available to
perform our real man and do not care what effect our present life. I belive this is one of the reasons peole love to
travel.
In conclusion, training yourself for becoming more perfect person and sucessful is nesessary but sometimess you
need to take a break to enjoy your life.
My parents usually teach me to "think carefully before you act/speak". However, part of me would love to go on my
own way without considering others judgement.
Even though the elders have their reasons to say that a mans
characters are expressed through his behaviors. I believe people sometimes need to be freed from social standards
and enjoy their lives in their way.
First of all, it seems more likely for those people who are intelligent, good-looking and/or well-educated than others to
succeed in life. For example, ugly actors find it hard to be recognized and noticed; politicians with poor presentations
skills are less likely to be elected because key positions in our society would only be assigned to suitable candidates
in consideration of their personalities and capabilities. In my opinions, without regard to bad lucks or wrong steps,
those who fail in their lives usually have poor abilities and bad attitudes.
Besides, life can be considered as continual struggle and we thus need some time to relax and refresh. Since our
childhood, we were guided with rules and these rules would become customs when we grew up. In our offices, we
feel tired of others judgements and occasionally wish to come to a place full of strangers so that we can be fully
ourselves and leave behind current problems in life. Maybe for this reason, so many people around the world love
travelling, which can be a way to free themselves.
In general, it is necessary to train yourselves to become better and better with time but also essential to take a break
at certain time to enjoy life.
Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why could this be?
Should governments give more financial support to local film industries?
In present, forein films usually attract audience more strongly than locally produced films. The reason should be that
abroading films producers invested a hundred times more than domestic company; and to compete with these big
groups in this field, we really need a great number of money. In spite of that, I believe our country have to consider
many problems and domestic movie makers should not require financial support from the government in present.
In the first place, investment to produce movies in Vietnam really can not compared with other developed countries. In
fact, production of blockbusters such as Titanic, Fast and Furious, Avatar requires a billions of dollars for materials
and human resources. For example, number of modern and expensive sport-cars which were crashed in Fast and
Furious series were more than hundreds; or a great deal of money to make a huge ship and drown it in Titanic.
Additionally, films producers also spent awfully in the other as scripts, cameras, superstars salary and many things
else. So that, in comparision of internationally and domestically movies industries, the first clearly has more financing.
In the other place, although our film industries are crying out for supporting money; the governments budget should
be used for more nessessary problems. Vietnam is still a developing country and there are weak points in many fields
as education, transportation, administrations Both of them concern very much money and citizens pay tax first for
hoping improved their life then entertaiments.
In conclusion, having strong and famous movies industries are very awesome; however, local film makers should
base on their own in present, financial support from goverments to produce movies could be considered in the future
when almost our countrys problems have been solved.
Governments should not have to provide care or financial support for elderly people because it is the
responsibility of each person to prepare for retirement and support him or herself. To what extent do you
agree or disagree with this opinion?

Nowadays, many people may consider goverments not to care and support for elderly people and a man has
responsibility to prepare for his own life in the future since his youth. Even though people have their reasons to say
that; I believe we should give a hand to the other who have bad lucks or wrong steps in their lives.
First of all, a man always need to save a little for his retirement when his health was too weak to work. For intances,
Vietnamese people, including me, work really hard when we were young; our salary was usually pay a few in
insurrance besides using in living cost. This money was deposited to National Treasury; then, we could live our oldtimes on retired payment which government withdraw from social budget. So that, we are available to help ourselves
and even our family when we retired without any support from public severices.
However, life can be considered as continual struggle and there are always people who need help. In fact, many
people find it hard to earn money much enough to pay for their necessities. We have many reasons for low salary and
poverty as unskilled workers, unemployment, wrong investment. When these bad-luck people got too old to work,
they would come to live on the street and become homelesses or bedgards. So that, it is encougrages for society to
support these poor elders with a little funds for a meal or a place to sleep.
In short, it is necessary for people to get ready for their future but also essential for goverment to support approriate
individuals who were really need help.
Some people think that strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents.
Others, however, believe that other measures would be more effective in improving road safety. Discuss both
these views and give your own opinion.
All the times, it is very nessesary to reduce traffic accidents. Many people may consider government to give more
strict punishments for breaking-the-laws drivers. Eventhough people have their reasons to say that, I believe there are
other ways which are more effective to control road safety.
In the first place, careless drivers clearly have to be punished by the laws when they caused accident; and public
thinks that government should made more strict rules to warn these drivers. In fact, lawmakers in our country almost
updates traffic rules as well as increses the fine and treatment measures every four years. For example, drivers just
have to pay 25 dollars when they speed over the limited in the past; however, now the charge rise to more than 100
dollars and even more, that depends on how many percent the driver breaks the rules; and in some case, his license
is arrested.
In the other place, although compliance the traffic laws is always very important, I believe too strict punishments are
not the best measures in improving road safety. For intances, when motorbikers in Vietnam were signaled to stop,
because of too high money they have to pay, many of them ignored the order and sped up to run away; after that, the
officers had to chase them and it is very dangerous for the other travellers. In my oppinion, besides of punishments,
government should combine the other measures such as bulding more overpasses, highways, subways or
pedastrians in crowded places.
All in all, government shoud have their own way to improve transportation safety. It is better than punishing the drivers
after the accident had happened.
These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children while mothers go out to work. What
could be the reasons for this? Do you think it is a positive or a negative development?
Nowsaday, many women go out to work while their husbands do houseworks and take care of children. This should
be the result of that women in present are able to earn money and pay for their cost of living the same as men.
Thanks for supporting the womans right, I believe this is a great positive development.
In the first place, working women in modern time are available to pay for their familys necessities. For example, my
mother has taught in highschool for more than thirty years; and her salary now are fair enough for our home members
to use every months. My father also go to work but his money can be saved in the bank or used in some emergency
cases because we find it almost has no problem when living on only her incomes.

In the second place, that women work and feed their family proved that womans right was supported more strongly
than it was and this development is amazing. In fact, a woman in the past often stay at home, do houseworks and
take care of children; so that, her living is depended completely on her husband. However, women now were
acknowledged at a higher level in our society. Female can go to school and then university or colledge, they have the
chance to apply in big offices with attractive salary when they graduated.
In short, it is totally fair that a man take care of his home when his wife go to work. And this is a big step when both of
genders are able to grow their own family and have equal level in society.
Wild animals have no place in the 21st century, so protecting them is a waste of resources. To what extent do
you agree or disagree?
In the 21st century, deforestment for building new cities have been very popular because of humans development;
and that has so terrible influence to life of wild animals which have no place to live. While I agree that protecting these
beasts really spends a lot, I also believe that it is our responsibility to the nature.
Preserving wild animals requires a great number of resources. First of all, they have to live in the natural condition
and government have to build national parks which maybe need a billion of dollars. Secondly, their food is another
serious problems; for example, the meat-eaters as tigers, lions, leopards need to hunt for their meals and they are
only able to eat smaller preys as deer, rabbits ; thus, we have to design a stable food chain which asks scientists to
study carefully. Last but not least, such valuable things as elephants fangs or rhino horns have very high prices and
they are the main targets of many illegal hunters; so that, paying for green-uniformed guards should not be forgotten.
In my oppinion, protecting wild animals is very important in spite of their expensive requirements. It is very lucky for
human to have acknowledge and intelligence and we have gone more forward than the other in evolution. However, I
believe both human and animals have equal level in nature and it is totally unfair that we destroy the others home in
order to develop our modern civilization. Moreover, preserving for our future has great meaning, I really do not hope
that our children learn about the beasts through only pictures in the books.
In short, preserving wild animals is necessary and people should not consider that is a waste of resources.
Compare the advantages and disadvantages of three of the following as media for communicating
information. State which you consider to be the most effective.
- Comics

- Books

- Radio

- Television

- Film

- Theatre

I and a lot of my friends like reading books in order to relax in our free times whereas the other people choose
watching television or listening to radio. In my oppinion, these ways of communicating information have both
advantages and disadvantages.
In the first place, all of these activities brings people different amazing experiences and both of them are relly good for
reducing stress after working times. Books help the readers live in their own characteristists adventurers and see the
stories in various ways depending on readers view points. Listening a song in radio is so more wonderfull than it is in
my phone; when I was a child, I used to sing alone when I listened to my favourate songs played in radio. On
television, there are a hundred interested things such as sports, movies, comedy shows and games shows. Books,
radios and televisions are also the best sources of information which happened in every minutes all over the world.
In the other place, over-using these ways of communication is very harmfull to the eyes as well as waste the times. In
present, more and more young people spend many hours before screens and many of them get the eyes problem
since they are children. For example, my sister had to wear glasses when she was 7 years old. Next, reading,
watching or listening all day makes people become lazy and the times for that is really useless. Last but not least,
their contents are not always attractive, there are a great number of boring proprams broadcasted and a book is only
best in the first reading.
In conclusion, although books have both good points and weaknesses as the two other categories, I prefer reading
and I believe it is the most effective because words are so simple to get information from, and I love turning each
papers to find out what will happend in the last chapter.

News editors decide what to broadcast on television and what to print in newspapers. What factors do you
think influence these decisions? Do we become used to bad news, and would it be better if more good news
was reported?
In the last century, the first man to walk on the moon said it was "a giant leap for mankind. However, some
people think it has made little difference to our daily lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that
children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. Discuss both these
views and give your own opinion.

The diagrams below show the existing ground floor plan of a house and a proposed plan for some building
work.

The two pictures compare the ground floor of a house as it is in an excisting plan with a proposed plan for some
building work.
It is clear that the main change in the second picture involves building a larger living room. In contrast, the kitchen is
supposed to be smaller by adding kitchen funiture.
In existing plan, there are a storage under stairs which is placed in center of the house. The living room and the
kitchen are seperated by a hall running from an entrance door to the external wall. The kitchen is able to be entered
by the other entrance door or the internal door between this room and the hall. In proposed changes, an internal wall
is not constructed and the plan is to join the living room and the hall in order to create larger space which includes
stairs without storage in the corner of the living room.
As kitchen funiture is going to be added, this room is able to become smaller. The kitchen also has an entrance door
and this room is directly linked to the living room by only one internal wall with a bigger door. Finally, no changes will
be made to the total area of the house.

The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and women attending various evening courses at an adult
education centre in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages of these course
participants.

The bar chart compares male and female attendants at an adult education centre in the year 2009 in terms of their
courses while the information about the ages of these people is presented in the pie chart.

The table compare six different cities in the world in term of the information of their underground railway systems.
It is clear that this kind of train is built first at London and this city also has the longest railway. However, the number of
people who use underground trains are highest in Tokyo.
The first underground railway system is placed at London in 1863 with 394 kilometres of route, this also is the longest
railway in the six systems surveyed. Paris is the second city which has the underground train in1900 with 199
kilometres in length and the last city is Los Angerles with 28 kilometres railway built in 2001. The shortest railway is in
Kyoto with only 11 kilometres of route, this system is built in 1981.
The number of passengers per years in Tokyo rank first, at 1,927 million people. The figures of Paris and London are
1,191 million passengers and 775 passengers respectively. The lowest rate is 45 milion people per years in Kyoto.
The picture illutrates the way in which the water passes from the ocean to air to land during the natural process known
as the water cycle.
Three main stages are shown on the diagram. Ocean water evaporates, falls as rain, and eventually run back into the
oceans again.
At the beginning of the progress, we can see that sea water evaporates to form cloud, 80% of water in air is
contributed by the ocean. Next, because of precipitation, the water in air come back to the ground. A little of this water
is absorbed by the tree while the water almost is freezed in snow on the mountains or is contained in the lakes.
In a certain times, when the surface runoff happends, the water in swow, lakes and tree get into the underground to
become groundwater which run into the rivers and go through salt water intrusion before getting back into the ocean.
