OntheauthorityofAbuHuraira(mayAllahbepleasedwithhim)fromtheProphet(peaceand
blessingsofAllahbeuponhim)whosaid,Whoeverrelievesabelieversdistressofthe
distressfulaspectsofthisworld,Allahwillrescuehimfromadifficultyofthedifficultiesofthe
Hereafter.Whoeveralleviates[thesituationof]oneindirestraitswhocannotrepayhisdebt,
AllahwillalleviatehislotinboththisworldandintheHereafter.Whoeverconceals[thefaults
of]aMuslim,Allahwillconceal[hisfaults]inthislifeandtheHereafter.Allahishelpingthe
servantaslongastheservantishelpinghisbrother.Whoeverfollowsapathinordertoseek
knowledgethereby,Allahwillmakeeasydoehim,duetoit,apathtoParadise.Nopeoplegather
togetherinahouseofthehousesofAllah,recitingtheBookofAllahandstudyingitamong
themselves,exceptthattranquilitydescendeduponthem,mercycoversthem,theangels
surroundthemandAllahmakesmentionofthemtothoseinHispresence.Whoeverisslowedby
hisdeedswillnotbehastenedforwardbyhislineage.(RecordedinMuslim)
Allahishelpingtheservantaslongastheservantishelpinghisbrother.
WecanseefromthisstatementoftheProphet,peaceandblessingsofAllahbeuponhim,thatAllahrewardsHis
servantsinamannersimilartothedeedsthattheyperform.Ifwearehelpingourbrotherorsister,Allahwillhelp
usinreturn.SomeofthevirtuesofhelpingoneanotherwerediscussedindetailinthecommentaryofHadith

helponeanother,andwhocouldbeabetterhelperthanAllah?IfAllahishelpingus,wouldweneedforanything?
ThisalsoshowsuswhattheidealIslamicsocietyshouldlooklike.Itisasocietyinwhichitsmembershelpeach
otherandsupporteachotherandencourageeachothertodowhatisbest.Allah,allpraisesandglorybetoHim,
commandsus:
Helponeanotherinactsofpietyandrighteousness.Anddonotassisteachotherinactsofsinfulnessand

transgression.AndbeawareofAllah.Verily,Allahissevereinpunishment(alMaaidah:2)
