The site-specific hazards and potential risks associated with known conditions at the property
or work area should be identified, reviewed and addressed in the site-specific health and

This drilling safety guideline has been prepared to assist the environmental remediation
industry in understanding drilling and direct push safety guidelines and common practices.
Strictly following all applicable Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and company safety
standards
Participating in internal and third-party safety audits to ensure the system continues to
meet the evolving risks in our industry.
Positioning the borehole should be taken seriously, all relevant information about each
site to assist in identifying hazards, locations, and the necessary permit.
Obtaining required permits for drilling activities under applicable local, state and
federal laws
Proper storage and material handling which mean to have a safe, smooth startup and
organized work area prior to commencing drilling operations
Fire prevention and safety equipment should be addressed prior to commencing any
job
Drill Rig Stabilization should be performed properly to ensure safe drilling operations
which include rig placement, jacks, blocking (cribbing) and use of wheel chocks.
General safety in the worksite should be followed as follow:o Wear proper PPE in worksite
o All employees should have proper training and familiar with the operational
hazards involved
o Proper housekeeping on and around the drilling rig must be done in order to
reduce accidents

All personnel must know the locations and use of emergency shut-down/kill
switch button
Identify potential pinch points and hazards which could injure fingers and toes
Operate as a team in which every crewmember is responsible for their own safety
and that of each of the other crewmember
Know their individual duties so that work can progress with efficiency and safely
Everyone should stay alert and know their surroundings.
Stay observant for safety problems and correct them as they occur or report the
problem to the lead worker
Use all the required and recommended safety requirement
Get proper rest and nutrition so that all personnel report to work in physically and
mentally fit
Never work under the influence of alcohol and drugs (medical or illegal)
Remove cutting with a long handled shovel, not your hand or foot
