Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance means periodical maintenance. It involves checking the operation
of equipment periodically. Any problems detected during the inspection should be handled
immediately to prevent accidents.
Alarm/Notification Handling
Notification handling involves analyzing the notifications generated during system
operation, determining whether faults exist, and taking proper measures as required.
Alarm handling involves analyzing the alarms generated during equipment operation,
determining whether faults exist, and taking proper measures as required. For a
description of notification and alarm handling, refer to the ZXSDR B8200 L200(HV3.10)
LTE Baseband Unit Alarm and Notification Reference.
1.2 Precautions
During routine maintenance, follow the precautions below:
l
l
Keep the equipment room dry, clean, and at normal temperature. Keep rats or other
animals out of the equipment room.
Ensure that the primary power supply of the system is stable and reliable. Check
the system grounding and the lightning protection grounding regularly. Ensure that
the lightning protection system is in good condition especially before a thunderstorm
season or after a thunderstorm.
Formulate complete rules for routine maintenance. Keep a detailed duty log of
the operations, versions, data changes, upgrade, and faults of the system for fault
analysis and handling. Ensure a shift change record is available denoting clear
responsibility.

Never play games or surf the Internet on the PC. Never install, run, or copy any
software not related to the system on the PC. Never use the PC for other purposes
not related to work.
Set the NetNumen passwords based on user levels and keep them open only to
maintenance personnel. Manage the passwords strictly and change them regularly.
Receive induction training to learn about the equipment and network. Perform
maintenance operations according to the instructions described in related manuals.
Wear an antistatic wrist strap before touching the equipment to prevent accidents
caused by human errors.
Do not reset the equipment, load or modify data without permission, especially the
EMS database data. Data must be backed up before it is modified. A record of
the modification should be made at the time. After data modification, the backup
data cannot be deleted until the system operates properly for a certain period of time
(generally one week).
Prepare the following common instruments and meters: flat head screwdriver, cross
screwdriver, signaling analyzer, network cable pliers, multimeter, AC power supply for
maintenance, telephone line, and network cable. Test the meters regularly to ensure
accuracy.
Inspect spare parts and accessories regularly to keep them in stock and in good
condition. Protect them against moisture and mould. Separate the spare parts and
accessories from the replaced parts and accessories and label them respectively.
Replenish the common spare parts and accessories as they are used up.
Keep any software and documentation that may be used during maintenance in a
specified handy place for use when required.
Lighting in the equipment room should meet maintenance requirements. Repair any
broken lights in time.
Solve any detected problems in time. For any problems that cannot be handled,
contact the local ZTE office.
Place the contact information of the local ZTE office in a handy place and make it
known to all maintenance personnel. Update the contact information regularly.
Danger!
Power supply inspection and adjustment must be performed by professionals. Otherwise,
injury, death, and equipment failures may occur.
Warning!
Data cannot be modified or synchronized without permission of the person in charge.
Otherwise, major accidents may occur.
