3. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the MyVLE for
preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point
Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing. / Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
Recently, there has been a mushrooming of the establishment of early childhood
education centres in Malaysia. However, we are not sure whether its establishment is
considering all aspects of child development or merely profit making in the field of early
childhood education.
For this assignment student need to:
a) Compare the early childhood education centre established by the private sector
and the government sector by assessing the following:
i. Characteristics of the premises.
ii. Curriculum / approach / model applied in the teaching and learning of children.
iii. Qualifications of teachers and caretaker / child minder.
b) State views / opinions on aspects of child development that should be emphasized
in early childhood education.
c) Explain the roles of teachers in improving children's self-potential at the level of
early childhood education that includes physical, cognitive, social and emotional
development.
d) Conclude as to whether both establishments are assisting in the comprehensive
development of children or just merely for profit.
In order to enrich the information in your assignment, students are advised to do thorough
reading and referencing from various types of references (text books, journal, article, online document and another resources) to complete this assignment.

SOALAN TUGASAN
Kepesatan penubuhan pusat pendidikan awal kanak-kanak di Malaysia pada masa kini
boleh diibaratkan seperti cendawan tumbuh selepas hujan. Namun, kita tidak pasti
adakah penubuhan tersebut menilai kesemua aspek perkembangan kanak-kanak atau
hanya sekadar mengaut keuntungan dalam bidang pendidikan awal kanak-kanak.
Untuk tugasan ini, pelajar diminta untuk:
a) Membuat perbandingan di antara pusat pendidikan awal kanak-kanak yang
ditubuhkan oleh pihak swasta dan pihak kerajaan dengan menilai kepada:
i.

Ciri-ciri persekitaran premis.

ii.

Kurikulum/ pendekatan/model yang diguna pakai dalam pengajaran dan


pembelajaran kanak-kanak.

iii.

Kelayakan guru dan pengasuh.

b) Menyatakan pandangan/pendapat mengenai aspek perkembangan kanak-kanak


yang seharusnya dititikberatkan dalam pendidikan awal kanak-kanak.
c) Menerangkan peranan guru dalam meningkatkan potensi diri kanak-kanak di
peringkat pendidikan awal kanak-kanak yang merangkumi aspek perkembangan
fizikal, kognitif, sosial dan emosi.
d) Kesimpulan sama ada kedua-dua penubuhan tersebut membantu dalam
perkembangan menyeluruh kanak-kanak atau sekadar mengaut keuntungan.
Pelajar dinasihatkan untuk melakukan pembacaan dan rujukan daripada pelbagai sumber
rujukan (buku teks, jurnal, artikel, dokumen atas talian dan lain-lain rujukan) untuk
menyempurnakan tugasan ini.
