unit DHL Global Forwarding announces the advertisement for the position:

Customer Relation and Claims


Handling Specialist
Main tasks and key responsibilities:

Receives necessary documents on all claim topics

Manages and investigates claims

Validates with Finance/insurance company/and other functions, where required, agreed


amount for pay out and confirms payments are made to claimant

Maintains communication of claims status to all internal stakeholders

Prepares monthly claims reports with support from CS

Develops relationship with allocated customers

Participates in joint Sales visits if necessary

Accepts all orders (from customers overseas office) and processes them for handover to
Operations

Proactively informs customer on shipment status, exceptions and provides intermediate


updates on incident solution

Performs up- and cross-selling (inbound calls) for existing customers and passes on leads to
Sales

Acts as first contact point for customer claims, supports customer in notification and
reception of claims, provides DGF claims documents, collects required documents from
claimant and hands over to specialized claims handlers when documents are complete

Collaborates closely with Operations and other departments for smooth handling of
shipments and continuous updates

Escalates issues if required

General qualifications:

University degree

PC literate

Good understanding of forwarding industry and knowledge on DGF products (AFR/OFR) and
customer service processes and systems is an advantage

Detailed understanding of Freight service liability insurance and cargo insurance and
knowledge of International conventions driving liability is an advantage

Clean driving license (B category)

Personal qualities:

Excellent organizational (incl. Telephone and writing) skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

High degree of self-confidence, initiative and commitment

Ability to address denied claims in a factual yet sensitive approach
