CSCMP and Greek Logistics Education Associations Form Partnership

Lombard, Illinois USA (April 28, 2008)—The Council of Supply Chain Management
Professionals (CSCMP) announced a formal working partnership with Greek logistics associa-
tions Elliniki Etaireia Logistics (EEL) and Elliniki Etaireia Logistics of Northern Greece (EELNG),
effective in March of this year.
“This partnership will serve the members of our respective associations very well by
increasing each organization’s knowledge base,” said Rick Blasgen, president and CEO of
CSCMP. “CSCMP will offer EEL/EELNG members a greater ‘global’ view of supply chain man-
agement and EEL/EELNG will enable CSCMP members to expand their knowledge of Greece
commerce and how its supply chains function. We will be collaborating on a variety of subjects
that will offer an excellent exchange of information while working to globally connect the three
memberships,” Blasgen added.
CSCMP members can expect more educational opportunities and a better understanding
of supply chain management within Greece. Members of EEL and EELNG will be able to expand
beyond Greece and benefit from CSCMP’s global resources, educational opportunities, and pub-
lications.
EEL and EELNG were established in 1994 and 1996 respectively. EEL, EELNG are
operating as independent non-for-profit organizations that promote logistics in Greece and South-
eastern Europe. As independent organizations, EEL and EELNG represent or cooperate with
various international logistics organizations to develop activities and actions for promoting and
establishing the disciplines of logistics and supply chain management, and their science and
practice in Greece.
CSCMP is the preeminent worldwide professional association of supply chain manage-
ment professionals. The mission of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals is
to lead the evolving supply chain management profession by developing, advancing, and dis-
seminating supply chain knowledge and research.
CSCMP aims to:

• Identify and conduct research and provide education, which adds to the knowledge
base of supply chain management theory and practice.
• Provide opportunities for supply chain management professionals to communicate
in order to develop and improve their supply chain management skills.
• Create awareness of the significance of supply chain management to business
and to the global economy.
