MEng equivalent, 311 ECTS)
Grade: 7.05/10 (Very Good) Ranking: top 30% of total graduates 3
Class-years past.
Major field of study: Electric Power Systems
Major courses in field of study:

Electric Power Systems

High Voltage Engineering
Lightning & Surge Protection
Electric Machines
Power Electronics

Automatic Control Systems

Electrical Installations
Industrial Automations
Laser & Plasma Technologies
Integrated Circuits/Electronics

Significant Projects:

Calculation and design of the lightning protection system of a multistory

building and a detached house, using AutoCad and various calculation
tools.
Electrical installation design of an apartment according to ELOTHD384,
using AutoCad.
Simulation of a typical electric power system, basic control modeling and
sensitivity study of the above systems stability, using MatLab.
Design and programming of Programmable Logical Controllers for various
automation industrial systems, using the Siemens Simatic Step7 software.

Diploma Thesis: Induced over-voltages on an above-ground natural gas/oil

pipeline due to lightning strike on a nearby High Voltage Transmission Line,
using the ATP-EMTP software.
My Diploma Thesis studies the effect of a High Voltage transmission line on a
nearby above-ground natural gas/oil pipeline, under lightning conditions
affecting the transmission line itself. A detailed description of the models used
to simulate the transmission line - natural gas/oil pipeline layout, is presented
and specific information concerning the calculations of model parameters and
their implementation in ATP-Draw of EMTP are given. Thereafter, the coupling
between the 400kV transmission line and the nearby natural gas/oil pipeline is
examined and simulated. Finally, simulation results are presented and an
attempt to deduce useful conclusions based on the overall study is carried out.
Thesis Grade: 10/10 (Excellent)

10/2013-09/2015

National Technical University of Athens.

Post-graduate Diploma in Energy Production & Management (2-year Postgraduate Diploma, MSc equivalent, 93 ECTS)
Grade: 8.47/10 (Very Good) Ranked 13th in the class
Major field of study: Energy Engineering
Major courses in field of study:

Reliability of Electric Power Systems

Energy Finance & Electricity Markets
Renewable Energy Sources (Solar,
Wind, Hydroelectric, Biomass)
Distributed Generation (RES & CHP)

Energy Efficiency Systems &

Green Buildings
Thermal Power Plants
Gas & Steam Turbines
Fuels & Environmental Technology

Significant Projects:

Lighting study and Daylighting energy saving potential enquiry of a

professional offices' compound, using Relux software.
Energy class categorization study of a newly built 7200m2 compound, with
full-scale electromechanical parameters enquiry, using the TEE-KENAK
software.
Preliminary feasibility study of a Biomass Facility, for the production of
biogas from cotton strains and manure mixture in a major agricultural area.
Feasibility study of a small scale Hydroelectric Facility (energy production
capabilities, financial viability, etc.) in a given location, using MS Excel.
Thermo-dynamical analysis and parameters calculation of a medium-size
Tri-generation power plant (gas and steam turbine in combined cycle
configuration, with absorption chiller).

Post-graduate Diploma Thesis: Calculation of induced voltages and currents

on metallic - e.g. natural gas - pipelines of both above and underground
configurations due to nearby HV (150kV) and EHV (400kV) Transmission Lines
under steady-state and grid fault conditions, using the SES-Tech Ltd. CDEGS
software.
My post-graduate Diploma Thesis studies the effect of a High or Extra High
Voltage transmission line - under steady state and grid fault conditions - on a
nearby above or underground metallic pipeline. A detailed description of the
modeling tools used to simulate the transmission line metallic pipeline layout,
is presented. Following that, specific information concerning the calculations of
model parameters and their implementation in the HIFREQ module of the
CDEGS simulation package are given. Thenceforth, the coupling between the
150kV or 400kV transmission line and the nearby insulated metallic pipeline - of
both above and underground configurations - is examined and simulated.
Finally, simulation results are presented and an attempt to deduce useful
conclusions for research and mitigation purposes is carried out.
Thesis Grade: 9.83/10 (Excellent)
