MacBraveheart TWO :
The Other Scottish Play
7:30pm, Lanark Memorial Hall,
12/10 concession
Rooted in the past of a dystopian preindependence future - that means a minimalist set
littered with industrial remnants and a broken toilet
- Scotlands greatest heroes, Wallace, Bruce and
Burns, are tempted by their inner demons to confront
their outer Hebrides. Lust, power, treachery, betrayal...
sorry, have I just given away the ending?
This epic production exposes the true price of freedom - its
not just something you can pick up in Lidls - whilst treading the fine line between dark,
visceral theatre and disappearing up ones own backside!
Differs script is fast-paced, punchy and foul-mouthed and keeps the laughs coming.
The Scotsman
Brilliantly written and delivered with perfect comic timing. Hilarious. The List
Differ manages in well under an hour to lampoon Macbeth, Braveheart, Burns,
Salmond, the independence movement, the language (You have to look at the bigger
pilchard) and, with rampant anachronisms and modern references, the whole genre of
historical drama. An uninterrupted delight! The Stage

like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to
donate a Christmas parcel for children within our
community. It was extremely well supported last
year. You can pop your parcel into Santas sleigh

We seek groups of fun loving folk from far and wide to enter
teams in our Silver Bell Soapbox Challenge. From young
teenagers eager to grow up to the more mature but wannabee
teenagers who resolutely refuse to grow up!
The event will be staged on Sunday 26th September 2016 down a 400
metre course (Lanark High Street) to finish - if they survive that long at Lanark Cross. That is when those intrepid lunatics of Lanark Rugby
Club, in partnership with the slightly saner, but seriously eccentric,
members of Lanark Community Development Trust will launch this first
annual event.
The concept and popularity of such events have been well established
by the energy drinks company Red Bull in capital cities all over the
world and we intend to emulate their success in Scotland in Lanark.
For a flavour of the event, check out Red Bull Soapbox Races on
youtube.
So! Are you a budding Lewis Hamilton? Have you the engineering skills
to compete with Mercedes and Ferrari? Have you the imagination to
create a themed entry? Have you the skill set to organise a bunch of
happy-go-lucky extroverts into a team? Have you got any friends in the
first place? Are they impervious to pain and humiliation?
All funds accruing by year three we hope will be shared equally
by the two organisations. LRC will spend their share on the ongoing
development of a School of Rugby at Colts Team at LGS. LCDT will
allocate their share to the development of a Skate/BMX/Roller Blade
Park in Lanark.
For further information and entry forms etc please contact;

GET INVOLVED!
We hope you enjoy Winterfest 2015, but we at LCDT are already
looking ahead to Winterfest 2016 and we want you to be a part
of it!
If you have a club, group, organisation or buisness and would like to
participate in Winterfest 2016 either running workshops, events or selling
your goods please get in touch with us at lanarkfestivals@aol.co.uk
We are also looking for individuals to join us for craft fayres and events
throughout the festival period. All we require is your name, a description
of your craft and a contact e-mail.
Not only will this give you the oppertunity to be involved in Winterfest, but
also in the popular Wallace Festival, which will now take place over three
weeks in May 2016. Your inclusion in the programme is free, following
Lanark Community Development Trusts vision to enhance our community
through involvement in the arts, bringing together people from all walks
of life and hopefully inspiring future generations.
