Your future is in your hands


The Capital Guard Youth CHALLENGE
Academy is for young men and women who
choose to make major changes in their lives
and are willing to take responsibility for
making them happen.
CHALLENGE is a 17 month long unique path
to self-improvement that helps to enhance
personal tools you will use in your adult life.
It requires both attention and commitment
through five months of residential activities
and twelve months of post-residential
support.
Although the program is truly a challenge, it
can be one of the most rewarding experiences
of your life. Along with having fun and being
a unique adventure, CHALLENGE will help
you grow emotionally and physically while
you acquire new skills and a self confidence
you might not have known you had.

For selection into the program,
all applicants must be:

life back on the right track! Along with
acquiring an extensive list of new skills
and knowledge, there are plenty of other
benefits associated with the program.

16-18 years of age at the time of entry into


the program

GED/High School Equivalency Credentials

Citizens or legal residents of the United States


and residents of the District of Columbia

Those who withdrew from high school


without graduating

Unemployed
Not currently on parole or probation for
anything other than juvenile status offenses

Work Experience

Free from use of illegal drugs or substances
