SENIOR AREA MANAGER, SMS, Inc., 2014
Responsible for personal contacts and meetings with
business owners or principals, to gain knowledge and
quickly analyze their business for potential synergies
between our companies. Being a full service business
development and consulting firm we could offer potential
benefits that the business owner may not have readily
available.
CONSULTANT, Cost Reduction Specialists, Inc., 200920012. Based on success running a highly successful
$90M business, recruited by owners of this consultancy
to help formalize policies and procedures to further
strengthen their market position and minimize workflow

inefficiencies while growing sales for a diverse client


base.
CEO, Southern Foods, Inc., 1991-2008. Recruited by this
wholesale food distributor as CREDIT MANAGER for its
Institutional Division. Promoted in 1998 to oversee firms
in-house finance company, and then voted in as CEO by
Board of Directors in 2001, succeeding the companys
owner/founder.
Beginning in 2004, also served as SALES MANAGER for
the Retail Division of this business that included 20,000
sq. ft. facility and 25,000 sq. ft. of freezer space.
Company shipped 900 coolers of a wide range of foods
to private parties and truckloads of like products to
restaurants, hotels, and country clubs every day. Held full
P&L responsibility for this $90M, 500-employee firm until
it was sold.
OPERATIONS MANAGER, Virginia Paper Company,
purchased by Mead/Zellerbach, 1983-1991. Oversaw
warehouse functions and inventory logistics between five
East Coast branches. Received Presidents Award for
outstanding employee for Southern Region in 1989.
Began career with company in Sales, working through
warehousing, purchasing and inside sales before gaining
own territory and making a significant impact.
Personal: In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, fishing
and gardening. I also held a NC Real Estate License.
