Greetings, dear student!
To prepare you better for the task of analyzing Scientific Journals (which involves scanning, digesting,
and comprehending a lot of data), this is the task I would like to give, to be submitted on Monday,
November 23, 2015:
NEWS LOGS
1) From November 17-20, 2015 (Tuesday to Thursday), kindly look at the:
a. News Section
b. Business (and Business News) Section
c. Science / Science News Section
Of the following National Dailies/Broadsheets (just pick one):
a. The Philippine Star;
b. The Philippine Daily Inquirer; or,
c. Manila Standard Today.
2) Select one news article (just one from any of the sections mentioned above) to discuss,
preferably the main news of the section.
3) Kindly write answers to the following questions (minimum of five sentences) in a one whole
sheet of pad paper (it depends on you whether you would consume the entire space, back to
back)
a. What is the news article all about?
b. Who are the persons/groups/organizations mentioned in the news article? Does the
news article provide a description? If so, what is it?
c. Where and when did the news happen?
d. What are other important details that the news article mentioned?
e. Why did you select this article?
f. What new knowledge did you gain from reading this article?
On November 23, kindly compile the logs and staple them for submission. I expect at least four (4)
logs to be handed over to me on the said date.
