To gain access to our servers, you must configure an IRC client that uses the proxy
TOR to make connections, below you will learn step by step how to do.
Assuming you already have the browser Tor installed and started, there is nothing left to download
and install the IRC client directly from the official site, for this tutorial we chose HexChat,
a free client, available for each operating system.
HexChat discharged from the original site: https://hexchat.github.io/downloads.html
Once downloaded and installed, start xChat. From the window that opens, click the "Add"
and changed the name to the new server that you are going to add as well as in the figure:
At this point, select the newly added server, and click on the "Edit ..." as shown:
Now xChat open the management page where you can set the server you just added
data access, as shown:
As usual, HexChat can not connect to the server, the window that opens, select the
top menu button "Settings" as shown, and select from the drop-down menu that opens
the "Preferences".
From the window that opens, select "Network Setup" and set the values as shown:
*(warning! If it won't works, try changing the Proxy Server port with this: 9051, or (specific for linux/apt-get tor
installation, port is 9050)
Here are the values to be set:
Bind to: 127.0.0.1
Hostname: localhost
Port: 9150*
Type: Socks5
Use Proxy for: All Connections
By pressing the "OK", the window will close and you will be taken to the main window.
Select from the top menu item "Server" and select from the drop-down menu that opens
"Connect".
