• Organized the annual western music competition of IIT Guwahati and one of the
biggest in North-West India, the Rock O’ Phonix 2009.
• Organized a national level science Olympiad for school students, Technothlon
2008. Over 10,000 students participated nationwide in 22 centers for the very first
time.
• Active member of Public Relations team in Techniche 2007, the annual Techno-
Management festival of IIT Guwahati and in Alcheringa 2008, the annual cultural
festival of IIT Guwahati.
• Student member of Transportation team in 1st Indo-US Symposium on “Advances
in Mass Transit and Travel Behavior Research (MTTBR-08)" in IIT Guwahati in
collaboration with Arizona State University.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES &

INTERESTS
• 2nd Runners up in Addict 2008, the business ideas competition organized by
Entrepreneurship Development cell, IIT Guwahati.
The idea was to build a Diary compared to Amul in Anand, Gujarat to harness the
milk potential in the villages of Assam and marketing them nationwide which will
be of welfare to the villagers as well.
• 1st Runner up in Virtual Stock Market 2006, a game to simulate the working of a
real stock market in Techniche.
• Participated in Manual Robotics competition and Chem-o-conk (chemical braking
system) in Techniche 06.
• Represented my hostel in Intra-Hostel sports tournaments in Hockey and many
cultural events like Movie Making, Western Music in IIT Guwahati’s annual intra-
hostel cultural festival Manthan ‘06, ‘07, ‘08.

• My interests include making a movie (video editing), playing PC games, reading
novels, creative writing, Bengali Poetry, solving puzzles, and tracking
developments in computers and technologies.
