subsystem of the pipelined test Tool for the new Product that Microsoft is going to ship
with Windows 8.
RVF was a multithreaded reliable image comparison tool which compared the rendering of
Microsofts Software with other similar Third party Software. The tool was executed on a
test bench for 10 days on more than 10 Machines.
PROJECTS
Development of a Video Conferencing Framework over Cloud Environment
Guide Prof Arun Kumar Majumdar (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur)
Overview
Achievements
Single Node Video Conferencing for 3 users has been developed using Red 5 Server.
We have developed a small cloud of Red5 Servers and the central Tomcat Server is able to
distribute the incoming load of conferences among them.
As the project is in its initial stage we are still experimenting with Hadoop and Eucalyptus
Cloud Environment.
Guide Prof Partha Bhowmick (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur)
Overview
Achievements
To design and implement an algorithm in order to minimize the size of .ply and .obj files by
applying the principles of Mesh Decimation.
An algorithm was designed and implemented using OpenGL in C language in order
to minimize the size of .ply files that hold large descriptions of 3D objects. This
involved removal of vertices determined by the algorithm and polygonization of the
resulting broken triangles.
We were able to reduce the number of faces and vertices by an amount proportionate to the
decimation degree entered by user, thereby reducing file size by a significant amount (by
almost half for decimation degree 0.5).
BlueNet - Development of a music file sharing P2P system for Symbian OS.
March 2010
Guide Prof Niloy Ganguly (Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur)
Overview
A server-client system was to be developed in which a client can search for available users
and download a music file remotely as well as have a private chat over the Bluetooth
Connection.
Achievements
Searching, Downloading, Public and Private Chats were successfully implemented over
Bluetooth Connection.
Code was written using J2ME on Nokia S60 Platform SDKs for Symbian OS.
This was developed for the inter-hall OpenSoft Competition and was placed third.
MINI PROJECTS
Wrote a term paper on Construction of Visibility Graph for n line segments in O(n2) time, as a part of
Computational Geometry course under Prof Sudebkumar Pal.
(April 2011)
Designed and Developed an Innovative Stock Trading Platform The Stock Network, with social networking
features and real time stock updates using Yahoo Developers network APIs like YQL and YUI during their 3 day
Event, Yahoo! Hack U at IIT Kharagpur. Our team was awarded the second prize out of 36 teams that presented
their innovative ideas in the event. (http://developer.yahoo.com/blogs/ydn/posts/2011/04/holiy-hacku-arecap-from-iit-kharagpur/)
(March 2011)
Developed a Compiler for a C-type language as part of Compilers Course under the guidance of Prof. Goutam
Biswas.
