Current areas of accountability and oversight:

Curriculum Development:
Curriculum Development supports Kaplan’s 8-10 schools in developing high quality and
engaging instructional materials by creating and managing an efficient and effective team of
instructional designers, editors, multi-media developers. In January 2001, Kaplan offered
approximately 30 sections of classes, today the University offers over 1400 sections per term.

Institutional Research and Assessment:

The office of IR and A is a small team with two main goals: 1) provide data for continuous
quality improvement to curriculum and instruction (evidence is critical for regional
accreditation), and 2) provide operational metrics and dashboards to the executive
management and academic leadership to improve the school’s effectiveness --- both
educationally and financially. Under my leadership, the Office of IR&A has created and
implemented an innovative Assessment program that we have presented at national
conferences, such as AAHE and the Sloan Consortium.

Academic Information Systems:

This function includes the Registrar’s Office and well as project leadership of various
systems’ projects across the enterprise. In the era of SOX and intense scrutiny of the for-
profit education segment, the Registrar and Academic Information Systems at Kaplan have
performed to the highest ethical standards while provided excellent service to students and to
various departments across the university.

Instructional Technology and Technology Management:

Work closely with the Technology Development team and business leaders, to implement
new technologies to enhance the virtual classroom experience for students and faculty, as
well as, improve workflow and back office processes faculty management, academic
advising and student services.
