MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE IN BERGENFIELD STABBING

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced today the arrests of
Kenny Francisco, 20 years old of 115 West Church Street, Bergenfield, New Jersey;
Ahman Ullah, Jr., 19 years old also of 115 West Church Street, Bergenfield, New
Jersey; and Andrew Rosario, 18 years old of 28 Cooper Street, Bergenfield, New
Jersey. The arrests are for various crimes related to the stabbing of a 20 year old male
of Englewood, New Jersey. The stabbing occurred outside of 76 West Church Street,
Bergenfield, New Jersey.
An investigation by the Bergenfield Police Department and the Bergen County
Prosecutor’s Office, Homicide Squad, revealed the following: At 2:03 a.m., Bergenfield
Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting the stabbing. The 20 year old victim had several
stab wounds to his chest and abdomen, and was taken by ambulance to Hackensack
University Medical Center. Once there he underwent life saving surgery as the stab
wounds punctured his heart and liver. He remains in critical but stable condition at
HUMC.
Through numerous interviews conducted throughout the morning, detectives
learned that a small gathering had occurred earlier in the night at 115 West Church
Street. During this gathering, the three suspects accused a female guest of stealing
money (less than $200.00) from the house. During the confrontation at the house, one
of the females was threatened with a knife by Ahman Ullah, Jr. After leaving the house,
the female contacted some male friends and told them about the incident. Several
males, including the victim, eventually arrived in the area and an argument began in
front of the house. Ullah, Jr. and Andrew Rosario both armed themselves with broken
beer bottles, while Kenny Francisco had taken a large kitchen knife from inside the
residence. Francisco and the victim got into a physical altercation, during which
Francisco stabbed the victim several times. The three suspects then fled the area. In an
effort to conceal his involvement in the stabbing, Francisco discarded some of his
bloodied clothing into a garbage can several blocks away. All three suspects were taken
into custody at various times throughout the morning without incident. The bloodied
clothing as well as the knife used in the attack have been recovered. In addition, a

search of Ullah’s vehicle resulted in the recovery of less than one-half ounce of
marijuana.
Kenny Francisco has been charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a
Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Tampering with Evidence. Bail has been set at
$500,000.00 with no ten percent option, and he has been remanded to the Bergen
County Jail pending first appearance on Monday, March 29, 2010, at 1:30 p.m., in
Bergen County Superior Court.
Ahman Ullah, Jr., has been charged with two counts each of Possession of a
Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Terroristic Threats, as well as Possession of
Marijuana. Bail has been set at $10,000.00, with no ten percent. He has been
remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Bergenfield
Municipal Court on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 4:00 p.m.
Andrew Rosario has been charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a
Weapon and released on a summons pending his first appearance in Bergenfield
Municipal Court, also on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 4:00 p.m.

Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendants are presumed innocent until
proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the members of the
Bergenfield Police Department for their assistance and cooperation.
