BUS ROUTE UPDATES DUE TO DAMAGED ROADS

Due to the recent flooding and significant road and bridge damage suffered throughout Sumter County, school
bus routes will be temporarily altered and re-routed until repairs are complete. There are numerous roads buses
will not be able to travel due to the damage. This will cause some bus stops to change locations and times which
cannot be predicted with accuracy. The road repairs are ongoing and will be evaluated for bus travel as they
reopen. Many dirt roads are not useable at this time. For students whose residence is on a dirt road or a
damaged road, please click the Back to School Information tab on the District Webpage and look at the Bus
Route information to find a stop closest the residence.
The following roads are still effected:
Ardis Pond Road between Queen Chapel and Edens Road
*May be repaired for Monday morning
*If not, stop locations are Ardis Pond & Edens, and Ardis Pond & Queen Chapel
Black River Road between Hwy. 441 and Borden Road
*All stops will be consolidated at Hwy 441 & Black River Road
Boots Branch Road between Tobias Road and Plowden Mill Road
*Field manager will coordinate
Cains Mill Road between Clipper Road and Kolb Road
*On the Kolb side of the bridge, stop location is Kolb & Cains Mill
*Buses will re-route via St. Pauls Church Road, Pinewood Road, Starks Ferry to Highway 15
Congruity Road between East Brewington Road and Illery Road
*Field manager will coordinate
Frierson Road between Highway 521 and Charles Jackson Road
*Detour via Shawside Drive & Charles Jackson Road
Horatio Hagood Road between Richbow Road and Francis Poole Road
Long Branch Drive between McElveen Road and Steeplechase Road
*Buses will re-route via Seymour to Steeplechase and/or Peach Orchard Road to Longbranch
Miller Road between Guignard Drive and Broad Street
*Bus will re-route via Broad Street, Bynum Street, and Willow Drive
Nazarene Church Rd between Hwy 261 and Reynolds Rd (repaired)
New Hope Church Road between Cimmaron Road and Frye Road
Pearson Road between Old Manning Road and Briar Branch Road
*All stops will be consolidated at Pearson & Old Manning Road
Ramsey Road between Barkley Road and Highview Road
*If you are located on Ramsey Road between Barkley and Highview , stop location is Ramsey & Highview
Old Manning Road between Clarendon County line and Tindal Road
*Look for update after AM routes Monday (pending validation of DOT report)
Raccoon Road between Hummingbird Road and Fish Road
*If you are located between Hummingbird and Fish on Raccoon, go to nearest of the two
Eastern School Road between Eastern School S-57 and East Brewington Road
*Field manager will coordinate
Mt. Sinai Church Road between Hwy 527 and bridge
*Field manager will coordinate
Brick Church Road between Clarendon County line and Skinner Road
*Field manager will coordinate
Seymore Road between Hwy 441 and Sargent Road
*Stop location on the 441 side of the washout will be at McElveen & Seymour
*Stop location on the Sergeant side of the washout will be at Sargeant & Seymour
Stamey Livestock Road between 2nd Stirrup Lane and Old Frierson Road
*Bus will backtrack to 521 for stops at Line Street & Williamsburg Estates
Tearcoat Road between Plowden Mill Road and Boots Branch Road
*Field manager will coordinate

West Avenue between Camp Mac Boykin Road and Rooster

*Buses will re-route via Rooster and then backtrack
Hwy 15 North (North Main Street) Bridge is out at White's Mill
*Bus will re-route via Bell Road & Old White's Mill Rd back to Highway 15
Westbury Mill & Cotton Acres Bridge is out Detour via Cotton Acres and Queen Chapel
*Lakewood 107 Stop for Westbury Mill student moved to Queen Chapel & Westbury Mill
