Mr. Charbel S. Tabet, President and CEO,
Distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, Let me on behalf of the Public Service Pension Fund in Tanzania express our earnest gratitude to the Association Otherways Management and Consulting for awarding a Fund the Golden Award for Quality and Business Prestige in recognition of her achievement in areas of Innovation, Quality Committment and Excellence. My delegation is pleased to be involved in this summit, which provides opportunity for participants to share ideas and expertise as well as develop synergies among institutions. President, The Public Service Pension Fund was established under the Public Service Retirement Act Benefit Act. No. 2 of 1999 to provide for collection of contributions and payment of terminal benefits to members as well as investment of collected funds and keeping members records. Currently the fund has incereased capitalization from Tsh. 30.6 billion in 2002 to Tsh. 1.25 trillion in 2013. Since its establishment, over the period of past ten year, the Fund has achieved to register 362,325 members comparing to 197,541 in 2005, representing an increase of 83.42 per cent during the period. I am delighted to report that the Fund has managed to open offices in every region of Tanzania mailand and one office in Zanzibar. The opening of offices countrywide has enabled the Fund to meet the urgent demand from members all over Tanzania and bringing it more closely to everyone, while
providing services in the most efficient and effective
approach. Cognizant of the records as an important tool for delivery of service in operations, the Fund has established state of art record management system to facilitate storage and retrieval of members information on demand and eventually speed up benefit payment process. We applaud the PSPFs Board for setting and implementing its vision and mission together with dedication and committment demostrated by the entire PSPF staff under his able leadership of Mr. Adam Hassan Mayingu, the CEO. Mr. President, I would like to close my brief intervention, by commending all partners involved in these selection process for their participation and for attending this important occassion. I hope that these collaborations will be further enhanced. I thank you.
