Introducing the all new Models 450A and 450AJ
articulating boom lifts in the 45 ft. (13.7 m) class. The
450 Series are the first JLG boom lifts created using our
new design process called First Pass.
This product development technique makes it possible
to perform computer-simulated design and operation on the
boom lift before anything is built in metal.
We make sure every part matches precisely without
interference, and we analyze the strength of the parts before
the parts even exist.

proportional controls.

More Power
The proven and powerful 2.5 liter
Ford Dual Fuel engine generates
70 hp 86% more than our previous
base engine. Thats more power per

for demanding rough terrain conditions.

We produced an
engine mounted on a
swing-out tray that permits
full backside access to the engine.
Color coded and numbered electrical
wiring enables you to troubleshoot, and
the single consolidated valve manifold
is in a convenient service location.

Functionality
The 450A and
450AJ have an
improved hydraulic
system with three
separate individual pumps
for different functions. This will help
you achieve true Multiple Function
Operation, and it provides the fastest time
to full platform height of any machine in
this class.

More Strength
Youll enjoy a beefed up
articulating boom with more
torsional stiffness and more
bending rigidity. This results in
less vertical deflection and 50%
less lateral deflection of the basket
when elevated. The new tower boom
can support an articulating jib without
additional reinforcement. We also created
a turntable weldment that is a full two
inches (5 cm) thick and has 50% fewer
parts. The operator gets an improved
feeling of stability with less bounce and
sway of the basket.

450AJ Features Articulating Jib

The Model 450AJ features a versatile 4 ft.
6 in. (1.37 m) articulating jib. A wide range
of motion (+70 to - 65 degrees) relative to
the main boom permits greater versatility
in the immediate vicinity of the elevated
work site. The articulating jib is compatible
with all three available basket sizes.
