BREAKBULK CARGOES VESSELS

Cargo were defined as goods that being carried on a ship, aircraft or motor vehicles.
Break-bulk usually did not involve the containerization. And it is usually being transport as
individual pieces due to the overweight, oversized goods. It is not suitable nor fit to the
container. As examples, goods that were transfer in bulk are usually ore, sand and other
commodities that are neither on pallets or in containers.

HOW IT WORKS

How does these vessels transfer it goods from one place to another. It is involving the
port and the ship itself. Roughly it involve big flow of transportation from manufacturers to the
trucks and lastly to the ship and it goes on from the ship back to the lorry and to the destination
where it was supposed to be send. The first is loading the goods, the goods will be kept in the
warehouse until the ship came to the port. When the ship had been arrived, the goods will be
transfer from the warehouse to the quay. Quay is a landing place that were made by concrete or
metal platform that lying alongside or projecting into water for loading and unloading ships. The
goods that had been on the quay will be transfer to the ship by crane. It is either the crane that
were on the ship or at the port. Because break-bulk vessels had different type. Loading and
unloading goods that were using break-bulk are a little mess to the labor. It is because the goods
will be transfer to the quay next to the ship and then it will be lifted on board separately. After all
the goods had been in the vessels, the loading and unloading area will be swept, washed and will
be repaired if it had any damaged on them.
