Responsible for the on-site coordination of a $225,000 grant from the United States Department
of Labor to institute a participatory management/employee involvement project at the National
Mine Health and Safety Academy in Beckley, West Virginia; facilitate six problem solving groups
(quality circles) composed of management, employees and union representatives; design
manuals and facilitate training in communication, conflict management, assertiveness and stress
management; train problem-solving group leaders; co-design and administer the organizational
survey used to evaluate the project.
