ABSTRACT
In this paper we obtain the real fracture energy of concrete (GF) by notched beams subjected to three-point bending
tests. Two different procedures have been used. These procedures are the local fracture energy model proposed by Hu
et al and the adjusting of the P- tail proposed by Elices et al. Both methods are based on modifications to the
recommendations of the RILEM association, which provide values of the fracture energy Gf dependent on the size of
the ligament area. Samples with different relative notch depths have been tested according to specifications of each of
the procedures and the real fracture energy of concrete have been obtained. The results show a single value of GF
regardless of the size of the ligament area, which relate the two procedures.

ligamento.
