Explain how authors of at least two literary works have portrayed a social

group in a particular way. How might the contexts of the authors have
influenced their portrayal of these groups?

Both the authors Fitzgerald and Ibsen have their own perspective of seeing the world, the Ibsen
had his set of dolls house focused in the room whereas Gatsby was more profoundly seeing the
outer world influencing the inner society. Ibsen based his set of rules in problems within the
society where the dogma of problems were important as the society during the 19th century where
very progressive contrasted Fitzgerald threw light on both the poor and rich side of America.
Ibsen had class based issues and it threw light on all the readers that woman played important
role in family because the husband was only strong because he was standing on the arms of his
own wife. The gender role was very important in both the books, characterization of characters
has been vital part of the books because it was important to build a realistic world and both the
books have been successful in doing so. These social groups have portrayed the real world
through class, society and different perspectives.
Dolls house was build regard to the Norwegian society where Ibsen depicted a life behind the
social image was created. The way the two main characters Nora and Torvald were hiding their
actual image behind a mask to both the society and the audience as well as readers were also
surprised when towards the end a tragic move took place where Torvalds as the most dominant
character was diminished to a puny little Ginny pig and the other side a carefree nature child
Nora with nave thinking turned into a mature self-esteemed woman with her own rights sprung
out. Gatsby had his own style using the third person narrative and so characters were not defined
completely but the characters were depicted the western and the old money society driven class.
