VISION
The Bulacan Agricultural State College as an outstanding higher education institution in
the nation with its provision of affordable and excellent education.
MISSION
The Bulacan Agricultural State College shall strive for excellence in Agriculture and
other allied disciplines. It shall provide for and address ever-changing educational needs and
services for those seeking to expand their intellectual horizons. It shall address national and
international issues and be established as a major presence and contributor to the progress of the
global community.
IGS GOALS:
Provide advanced studies, develop competence among professionals and be instrumental
in transforming human resources.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course, the students are expected to:
LO1: Understand the application of statistics to education and social sciences
LO2: Develop competency in identifying, analyzing and interpreting the required statistical tools
used in the study.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Understand the concepts and nature of statistics.
2. Explain how data are collected and organized; decide when and how to use the sampling
techniques.
3. Understand the characteristics, properties and uses of the mean, median and mode.
4. Calculate the range, quartile deviation, average deviation, variance and standard
deviation.
5. Illustrate and describe the properties of skewness and kurtosis; calculate the values of
skewness, kurtosis, coefficient of variation and coefficient of quartile deviation.

6. Understand the concepts of hypothesis testing, describe the properties and uses of z-test
and t-test.
7. Calculate the data using chi-square test, goodness of fit test, test of independence and
ANOVA.
8. Understand and apply the formula in finding the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation
coefficient; derive and interpret a linear regression equation.
