ALDL employees

New Office building location

Good Day to all ALDL employees, were so eager to have you all as we embark on this new
success. Were very pleased when Mr. Alberto approached us about the union because we really
admired the craftsmanship put into every one of ALDL Corp. products, and we cant wait to be a
part of it.

Since were going to expand our companies, I wanted to give everyone at ALDL Corporation an
update on research about the possible new location of our office that can accommodate all the
employees. And the results states that weve found a marketable new location and have signed a
lease!

It is located at 123 Bonifacio Global City, which is close to shops and restaurants. The proposed
office building is nearly two blocks from the train station.

Mr. Miguel, our director of HR, will be emailing everyone with more information about how to
get your ID badges and parking passes. September 5 will be our first day of work, and everybody
is required to attend the meeting at 9 am sharp. Im looking forward to see all of you, there!

Flood Resilient Homes

Research Proposal

Submitted by:
Rachel May U. De Leon

Submitted on:
September 2, 2015

Abstract:

According to people, flooding is a fact of life. Based on the research there are approximately 2
million households at risk from coastal or inland flooding and around 200,000 household at
extreme risk of flooding. In the long term, this circumstances could worsen.
Climate change is one of the factor that could escalate the number of properties at risk of
flooding, while continued pressure for new homes could mean even more developments being
situated in floodplains.

Homeowners could take many practical steps that lessen the cost of flood repairs and speed up
recovery times.
Introduction:
Problem Statement:
If your property is exposed to repeated flooding, it is vital to limit damage to speed up drying/reoccupation by making the inside of your home resilient to floodwater
Purpose of Study:
Making your home flood resilient is more affordable during the normal course of renovation for
your property, or during repairs after a previous flood. This include ensuring that the walls, floors,
and fixtures will not be damaged by water, and also re-organising your house so that valuable
and costly items are above the level of the flood.
Methodology:
Here are some of the cost-effective measures you can take to protect your
home from the impacts of flooding.
Replace timber floors with concrete and cover with tiles.
Replace chipboard/MDF kitchen and bathroom units with plastic
equivalents.
Replace gypsum plaster with more water-resistant material, such as lime
plaster or cement render.
Move service meters, boiler, and electrical points well above likely flood
level.
Put one-way valves into drainage pipes to prevent sewage backing up into
the house.
Undertaking these measures will mean that services can be maintained and
your house can be quickly cleaned, dried, and reoccupied with minimum
disruption. Overall it would be best to put in place a suite of measures to

protect your property from flooding - both keeping the water out initially ,and
then reducing damage when/if the water enters your home.

Budget:
In the long term, adopting flood resilient measures could make it easier for an insurer to continue
to provide cover to a homeowner living in a high flood-risk area. Minimize the financial cost of
damage from flooding, but it cannot remove the trauma and misery of the experience.

Progress on the construction of a Two-Storey Apartment with deck

Introduction
This memo responds to your request on the progress on the construction of your two
storey apartment with deck. As presented in contract, I identified two principal objectives on the
contract: (1) assess all the materials needed in the project, and (2) evaluate the work done and
determine the cost of the project. This memo will first present the work that I have completed so
far, including preliminary results. Then this memo will discuss the remaining work and the
adjustments made. Finally, the memo will discuss the progress on meeting the original deadlines
for the project.
Completed Research
Since the signing of the contract, I devoted my time in searching for the unique design of
the two-storey apartment with deck. The figure 1 below shows the work done so far.

Figure 1. The timetable shows the progress on the construction of the project. The pink bars
indicate the work that has been completed, the yellow bar indicate the payment of the owner and
the green bars indicate the unfinished work.
Remaining Works
So far, I am on schedule with the construction of the project. The green bars shown in
Figure 1 present the timeline of work that needed to complete by October 30, 2015. Most of the
remaining works involves the Retouching of paints and the Demobilization.
Conclusion
The progress report has updated you on the status of the construction of the two-storey
apartment with deck. As stated, I am on schedule and should be complete the constructionof the
project by the original deadline, October 30,2015.
