Fingerprints Authentication in

Canada
There are a number of foreign organisations and governments that often
require certified criminal record check carried out by RCMP to have a higher
authentication, usually by the DFAIT and legalized by the embassy or
consulate with approved jurisdiction before it can be accepted by them.
Legalization Service Centre provides authentication of documents and

Other requirements for multiple uses will require Fingerprints authentication
so that a criminal record can be carried out and certified from the RCMP.
This can be authenticated by DFAIT and presented to the embassy/consulate
that has the required jurisdiction for authentication.
These services are normally required in the following cases;

Required Documents:
To request for this service, you need to apply in person, fill the necessary
application form, pay the applicable fees and ensure that an ID with a photo
and another form of ID is presented along with the request letter from an
employer, police or immigration (as the case may be).

For your fingerprint to be valid, it must be taken at a local police station or


an accredited fingerprint processing agency using the form C-216C, and it
might attract a fee.
Applying from Outside Canada:
Fingerprinting can be done at the local police station nearest to you with
fingerprinting services section. RCMP accepts fingerprinting forms captured
in foreign countries that includes flat impressions of all ten fingers captured
with black ink, full name, sex, date of birth of the applicant, police agency
name and address, as well as the signature of the official who took the
fingerprints.

Such persons as volunteers, employees or in a circumstance that requires


Police Criminal Record Check must reside and live in Canada, to be granted.
The required procedure is to apply in person with an application form, 2
pieces of identification, if which one must have a photo ID along with the
processing fees.
Photo ID accepted include:
Foreign Driver License., Canadian Driver License, Firearms Acquisition
Certificate (FAC), Ontario photo card, Age of Majority Card, Passport, Military
