Today we are going to hear about how back in the Bible
days, there were times when people didn’t have food. They
didn’t have stores like we do. They had to get food from the
trees and plants and animals around the land. Let’s find out
what happened.
Joseph
Pharaoh gave Joseph the job of storing up food before the
famine. A famine is when there is no food around for people
to eat. When the famine came, Joseph’s brothers traveled
to Egypt to find food. They went to this leader to beg for
help, but the brothers didn’t recognize that it was their
brother Joseph until he made himself known. Joseph then
helped his father and brothers get safely settled in Egypt.
Joseph took care of all of them and their families, right down
to the smallest baby. He made sure that they had plenty of
food to eat. Joseph shared all that was his to help his family
during this hard time. (Source: Genesis 47: 11-13 )
