The following is a very meaningful story which is called "Let Go", and
written by Dr. Billy Graham.
A little child was playing one day with a very valuable vase. He put his
hand into it and could not withdraw it. His father too, tried his best, but all
in vain. They were thinking of breaking the vase when the father said,
"Now, my son, make one more try. Open your hand and hold your fingers
out straight as you see me doing, and then pull."
To their astonishment the little fellow said, "O no, father. I couldn't put my
fingers out like that, because if I did I would drop my penny."
Blurred Vision
A businessman was highly critical of his competitors' storefront
windows. "Why, they are the dirtiest windows in town," he claimed.
Fellow business people grew tired of the man's continual criticism
and nitpicking comments about the windows. One day over coffee,
the businessman carried the subject just too far. Before leaving, a
fellow store owner suggested the man get his own windows washed.
He followed the advice, and the next day at coffee, he exclaimed, "I
can't believe it. As soon as I washed my windows, my competitor
must have cleaned his too. You should see them shine."
Time To Think
Henry Ford hired an efficiency expert to go through his plant. He
said, "Find the nonproductive people. Tell me who they are, and I will
fire them!"
The expert made the rounds with his clipboard in hand and finally
returned to Henry Ford's office with his report. "I've found a problem
with one of your administrators," he said. "Every time I walked by,
he was sitting with his feet propped up on the desk. The man never
does a thing. I definitely think you should consider getting rid of
him!" When

professor
walked
on a he's
stage
while teaching stress
management principles to an auditorium filled with students. As she raised a glass of
water, everyone expected theyd be asked the typical glass half empty or glass half full
question. Instead, with a smile on her face, the professor asked, How heavy is this glass
of water Im holding?
Students shouted out answers ranging from eight ounces to a couple pounds.
She replied, From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass doesnt matter. It all
depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute or two, its fairly light. If I hold it
for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache a little. If I hold it for a day
straight, my arm will likely cramp up and feel completely numb and paralyzed, forcing
me to drop the glass to the floor. In each case, the weight of the glass doesnt change,
but the longer I hold it, the heavier it feels to me.
As the class shook their heads in agreement, she continued, Your stresses and worries
in life are very much like this glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing
happens. Think about them a bit longer and you begin to ache a little. Think about them
all day long, and you will feel completely numb and paralyzed incapable of doing
anything else until you drop them.
heart. See, yours. It is full of scars, wounds and blemishes. How can you say your heart is
beautiful?
Dear boy, my heart is just so beautiful as your heart is. Did you see the scars? Each scar
represents the love I shared with a person. I share a piece of heart with others when I
share love and in return I get a piece of heart, which I fix at the place where I had torn a
piece! said the old man.
The young man was shocked.
And the old man continued. Since the pieces of heart I shared were neither equal nor in
the same shape or size, my heart is full of uneven edges and bits and pieces.
My heart is not in shape because sometimes I never get the love in return from those I
gave it. So where do you see the real beauty? Your heart which looks fresh and fuller with
no scars which indicates you never shared love with anybody. Did you?
The young man stood still and never spoke a word. Tears rolled down his cheeks. He
walked to the old man, tore a piece of his heart and gave the piece to the old man.
