very
good
day
to
the
organizing
chairperson,honourable
judges,time
keepers, teachers and all friends.Today I would like to present you all a story
entitled The Magic pencil.
Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter called Lagang.Lagang stayed with his
mother in an old hut,at the edge of the forest.Lagang liked drawing things. In his
free time,he drew pictures with sticks and stones because he was too poor to buy a
pencil.
One day,as usual,Lagang went to cut wood in the forest.as Lagang was buzy cutting
wood in the forest, suddenly he heard someone crying for help. Please help me. He
looked around him. Then,he saw an old woman trapped under a big branch. The old
woman looked pale and she was dying.
Lagang quickly took his axe and cut off the branch to free the old
woman.Immediately, after the old woman was free,Lagang was shocked to see that
the old woman had changed into a beautiful fairy. Who...who are you ?Asked
Lagang.
Fear not,my son, said the fairy. I am the fairy of this forest.Youve been so,kind
for rescuing me.Here, take this pencil.Draw anything you want and it will become
real. But remember, only draw for poor people. Lagang took the pencil from the fairy
but before he could thanked her, the fairy had disappeared out of sigh.
Lagang was very happy. He took the pencil home and showed it to his mother.
Son,draw some food and see what happen. Said his mother anxiously. Lagang held
his pencil and drew some food on the table. Immediately, the food came to
life.Lagang and his mother were very happy and they enjoyed the food. After
that,Lagang drew a house with furniture in it and it became real too. So that Lagang
and his mother had a house to live in, they were no more sad or worried.
Although Lagang was quite rich now, he did not forget the fairys advice. The next
day,he went to the village to draw for the poor. There were people crying for
food, clothing, house and so on.Lagang drew for them. They were grateful for Lagang
because he was honest and kind.
One day, the news of Lagang and his magic pencil reached the king. The king was a
cruel and greedy king. Immediately he called for Lagang and ordered him to draw a
tree covered with gold. Draw me a tree covered with gold, But Lagang replied
Your Majesty, I can only draw for the poor. Youre so rich and you dont need them.
The king was very angry and he ordered Lagang to be put into prison.
Inside the prison, Lagang was very surprised to see many villagers being locked up in
a small cell. Lagang quickly thought a plan. He took out his magic pencil and drew a
key. Then he opened the cell with the key. Later he drew soe horses and helped the
villagers to escape.
When the king and his men knew about this, they quickly gave chase. When they
were just about to catch up with Lagang and the prisoners, Lagang quickly drew a
river on the ground. The king and his men were riding too fast that they did not see
the river. They rode into the river and were killed.
Soon the villagers appointed Lagang to be their king.Lagang was a good and wise king.
The people loved him and so was his mother. They lived happily ever after.
My dear friends, this story has a moral teaching .It teaches us to be kind and
honest. Thank you.
