Explain the importance of the national symbols to them and their country.
Discuss independence celebration.

Pupils will:
Identify and draw the maps of Dominica and locate the islands in relation to
other Caribbean islands.
Locate the positions of places, water bodies and features on the map.
Identify and construct a compass rose.
Describe locations using cardinal points.
Identify the equator and the northern and southern hemisphere.
Locate water bodies on a map of the Caribbean.
Discuss how the location of these places help or hinder peoples activities.
Follow or give direction to selected sites of interest on a map of Dominica
using cardinal points.
