Working in Ethiopia:

Ethiopia is one of the African countries and has lot of fund from UN, WHO, EU, CIDA and many
organizations. Ethiopia is recruiting teaching professionals 70% from India and rest from Cuba,
Phillipines, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and many European countries. Those are looking &
getting the opportunity to work in Ethiopia should know the certain true things about Ethiopia.
The working condition in Ethiopia is worst specifically due to …….
1. Different diseases (Malaria, Typhus, AIDS and many).
2. Third Class low level education in schools and at university level.
3. Ruling the employee (forcing for bad activities such as forcing for grading, manipulation
in marks) etc.
4. Giving the Termination orders if employee will deny teaching post graduates (avoidance
due to grade manipulation), since they always forced for giving higher grades to students.
5. Giving the termination orders due to their own mistakes of recruiting over staff so that
they can avoid payment to employee for 3 months according to the norms and contract
for expatriate, however employee should not terminate due to their mistake. Whereas
they can relieve employee either giving notice before 3 months or by paying 3 months
salary immediately.
6. Giving the termination orders for insignificant reason. It affects the career of employee
and STRICTLY SHOULD AVOID TO WORK AT SUCH PLACE.
7. Their inability to understand truth.
8. Those have good academic record and want to become a good professional should not
come to country like Ethiopia.
9. The country is best suitable those have fake degrees and education OR for distance
learned people.
10. The country is best suitable for the people who can donate the grades (in the
university/institution) irrespective of quality of students.
11. The people in Ethiopia are emotionless and has no respect about foreigners, expatriate or
highly qualified people. Working condition is suitable those can work as a SLAVE.
12. The given word and statement either written or spoken by any Ethiopian authority or
person has no meaning. They can change any time even international contracts. So if any
one want to come as a employee in Ethiopia, they should remember that the contract
which they signed with Ethiopian authority is meaning less and they will change any
time. (it seems to be a big fraud by Ethiopian).
13. Ethiopians are very lazy and getting any kind of work from them is most difficult work
for any one.

2. Arba Minch University (worst most place, 3rd grade university, must avoid working such
place)

7. Adis Ababa University
8. Awasa University
9. Mekele University
 10. All universities have some of problems mentioned above but intensity will be varying.

European Union (EU): whether doing good or bad ?

We wonder that, HOW & WHY European Union (EU) is giving the subsidy & chances
for higher education. With our experience in Ethiopia, they are saying that EU is just fool
and provide us many benefits irrespective of looking for quality of education in Ethiopia.
They just forced teaching professional for giving the higher grades, points & percentage.
Their 70% graduates and 98% post graduates are having minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0
(75%) and hence for any Ethiopian it becomes very easy to get admission for post
graduate or for doctoral study. With the intension of high scholarship, they want to study
in Europe and some western countries. The person has zero ability to carry higher
education and research getting degrees from European countries which demolish the level
of education in Europe. The EU must have to think about this issue since European
countries are now leading the world otherwise education in Europe will not compete in
the world. The many asian countries & south American countries have good research
ability but EU has strict rule for them. It is too difficult for them to get admission in
higher institution in Europe. How Europe will grow? The euro has depreciates and this is
one of the reason among many reaons. As a European, I will say that we are doing wrong
by giving opportunities to Africa. My experience in Ethiopia was too bad and panic. It
made me frustrate and forced me to think on such big issue. As a European, we must
have to consider globally for research and development instead of only for africal. The
country like India & china have excellent GDP and growth is appreciable. We should
think that, why don’t we do the research along with the person from such countries. They
believe in doing rather just talking. My personal observation is that, EU gives more
advantages & benefits to Africans only even they comes under Non-EU countries. We
should see that, how India grown? 50-60 years ago England ruled for 250 years on it and
looted almost liquid assets. The condition of India was too bad and similar to African
countries but they grown nicely. They did themselves. Even they didn’t get any
assistance from Europe and now they compete in the world. Similarly, China also grown
drastically and now china-india may consider as a super power. Education in India &
china is very strict and getting 60% and above in India is a great achievement for a Indian
but even they work hard for constructive results. Naturally as a European we should give
chance to them for research as they deserve to get high scholarship. Only looking at
grades & higher CGPA, we should think on where we are investing. Whether it is worth
or not. The wonder is that, these two countries are most populated in the world but even
they grows rapidly, its just amazing.
