SYNOPSIS:

Procedure No : PK(0). UPNM. AKAD. 07

The course will focus on the history of warfare before moving on to the various campaigns and
battles from the medieval period to the post Cold War era. Students shall be exposed on the
development of war strategy, tactics, roles of military leaders, impacts and limitation of technology,
the political and social effects of these campaigns and the lessons learnt. A section will also be
devoted to counter insurgency warfare and the development of Malaysia Armed Forces

O OBJECTIVE :
This course will provide students of military history with an understanding on history of military
events and the lessons that can be learned from wars and campaigns. Students will also be taught
on military leadership, peacekeeping operations and counter insurgency operations in Malaysia.

METHODOLOGY :
1. Students exposed to the fundamental, concepts, historical developments and approaches
in military history via lectures.
2. Students are to read and research on additional information from books and articles
available in the Universitys library, online resources and lecture notes.
