Lesson Planning Strengths and Weaknesses
As I worked on my Lesson plan several weeks I tried to look for the weak-points of it and how I
could implement all my activities the best way possible. A weak point that I found in my lesson
plan was that i was trying to load students with lots of information and a simple structure, and
because of that my class had to be very fast paced and we had to be on top of students with
repetition drills and worksheets.

Teaching Skills Strengths and Weaknesses

Looking back into my class i realised that my teaching skills haven't changed form years ago, i
would say that they have been modified and improved. I have looked back on my errors and
have tried to improve most of them. For instance an aspect that I have tried to work on is trying
to speak slower while carrying out activities and while I instruct an activity. During this past class
i realised I have improved in that aspects, I have tried to use more simple language and have
been speaking in a slower pace for students to understand instructions clearly. A weak aspects
was trying to get standouts to participate without my help. most students were engaged at the
beginning of the class but towards the end some of them were not as engaged as I thought they
would be. In my personal opinion i believe this had to do with the fact that i used the same
teaching method the whole class. With that being said, I have noticed that different tones of
voices are necessary to engage students in different stages of the class

Use of Language Strengths and Weaknesses

I tried using L2 most of the lesson, while there were some parts of the lesson in which i couldn't
help using L1 due to the fact that while I was trying to explain the meaning of the word, I tried to
using mimics and non verbal language and i still couldn't transmit the meaning of the word, this
is when i tried using spanish. A weak aspect about my class is that i tried using english the
Whole class but unfortunately I speak vey fast and although I try speak slower, this is still very
hard for me to do.

Actions for Future Lessons

There are several things or aspects that I will try to work on further classes for example:
Use of L1 - I could take flashcards to project the meaning of a difficult word instead of using L1
My pace of speaking - in further classes I will try to moderate my speed of voice as well as my
tone when carrying out activities.
Lesson plan - In terms of the lesson plan I will try think more like a student ans try to anticipate
more problems as well as having more solutions
Teaching strategies - In terms of my teaching strategies, I will, in further classes, try to apply
different teaching methods to see which work best.
