What is ELAM?

ELAM is the industry academy for 16-19 year olds. We are focused on developing
the next generation of young creative and business talent; providing real
recognition, professional skills and the opportunities that they will need to better
the creative industries of tomorrow.

ELAMs Trainees work and learn alongside the creative industrys leading
organisations and professionals.
Real world projects, work placements and expert mentors will develop the technical
and personal skills
needed to succeed at university and within the workplace. ELAM is totally
committed to the successful
progression of its trainees onto these pathways. All trainees embark on a
challenging programme of study of a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music in
addition to a Mathematics and English Qualification (GCSE, A-Level and Level 3)
underpinning the development of our Trainees, and the practice of our staff are
ELAMs Values of Collaboration, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Drive. These
Values align ELAM with our partner industries and are embedded at every level of

Who is involved?

ELAM has been founded by a group of leading figures from industry and education
including Sir Nick Williams, former Principal at the BRIT School in South London and
Will Kennard, Musician and one half of production duo Chase & Status. Both are
Governors of the school and are supported by educational, creative industry,
financial and legal experts.

Role purpose & description

ELAMs Industry Partnership Lead will take overall responsibility for the Access
strand of the ELAM
Programme. They will therefore oversee the delivery of the weekly Masterclass
series, the work experience programme and the mentor scheme. They will act as a

direct liaison between ELAM and our industry partners to ensure these programmes
run effectively in supporting the development of ELAM Trainees.

The Industry Partnership lead will also be responsible for identifying and developing
new partnerships with relevant organisations and individuals across those sectors to
ensure ELAM continues to develop and remain relevant with the professional
industries.

ELAMs industry ethos and Values will influence the work of all of our teachers as
they construct powerful and relevant learning experiences that are plugged-in to
the sector. The Partnership lead will also be responsible for working with subject
leaders across musiic, english and mathematics to identify ways in which learning is
linked directly to the professional industries.

Role responsibilities

Work as part of the ELAM Team to implement ELAMs Vision and embed its Values
of Collaboration, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Drive across every aspect of
the school;
Manage the ELAM Work Experience Programme ensuring all Trainees commence
work experience and with >85% of partners happy with the Trainee
Deliver a Masterclass Programme with a diverse range of speakers from across the
industry that has a clear impact on the Trainees.
To deliver the ELAM mentor programme by matching Trainees with Industry
specialists
To identify and build relationships with new partners which feed directly into the
ELAM programme of study.
To work with subject leaders across English, Music and Mathematics to create a
diverse and engaging curriculum with real life examples from the industry.
To support the governing body and senior leadership team with fundraising to
support the transition into the new building.
To be part of the continuous conversation within the Senior Leadership Team
around Trainee achievement

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree (desirable)

Experience
A knowledge of or direct experience within the music and creative sectors.
Experience of using data and other contextual information to inform practice
Programme management involving various stakeholder
Experience of working with young people aged between 16-19 (desirable)
Experience of working in a values driven environment (desirable)

Skills
The ability to create and lead a new learning area.
Excellent organisation and planning skills
Outstanding interaction skills
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to innovate to achieve ambitious outcomes

Salary and how to apply

Salary: 26,000 - 30,000 Subject to experience.

The start date for this role would be January 2016, with ELAM looking to engage
with the appointed candidate prior to this.
