PROBLEM STATEMENT: With the onset of a new Government that places strong emphasis on boosting infrastructure, the
need to identify the bottlenecks and skill gaps in the construction industry has never been more important. In this context
understanding the key challenges pertaining to standardization and analysis of skill set in the construction industry is of
paramount importance. We propose the following roadmap to achieve this goal.

Extensive secondary research to collate all publicly available
and verifiable information

Information gaps filled by conducting intensive primary
interviews with different stakeholders
Primary sources: Industry experts, personnel in construction
firms, industrial training institutes, etc.
Primary research will form the crux of this phase of study
Sources : Staff and students in educational institutes (such as
NICMAR), HR and project management personnel in various
construction and EPC firms, manpower consultancies
Secondary research sources, such as industry reports, magazines
and journals etc.
Primary research with a sample set of personnel (employed
under each of the occupational heads identified earlier) to gain
insights into the main job responsibilities
Engage with Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)to understand
the functionalities of different roles offered in construction industry
Use insights collated previously & rigorous analysis of demandsupply scenario for KSA required in the industry
Validate the findings by corroborating the same through focussed
primary interviews with eminent industry experts in the
construction industry
Strong and implementable observations for the next phase
