Prophet Muhammad

The Foundation was founded by educationalists and

Islamic scholars who believe in the universality of
knowledge and that all knowledge is essentially
Islamic if it is beneficial.

THE BADR 313

THE BADR 313 IS A GROUP FOR WELL-WISHERS AND
SUPPORTERS OF KHALIL FOUNDATION. IT GIVES MUSLIMS
WHO ARE DEDICATED TO THEIR DEEN AND COMMUNITY
THE OPPORTUNITY, BY CONTINUOUSLY SUPPORTING OUR
WORK, TO INVEST IN THE HEREAFTER.

We are inspired by the fact that our Prophet

Muhammad (SAW), was sent as an educator, and it
was through education that he transformed society.
His educational philosophy was comprehensive and
universal. It is therefore our belief that education is
the solution of the problems of the world and this
Ummah.
In 2003 a small team of like-minded individuals
began with a vision to transform Islamic education
by combining the best of the traditional and the
modern. The work began with the launch of Ebrahim
College as the first institute to run a much improved
and revised version of the traditional Islamic Sciences
curriculum alongside mainstream subjects and
A-levels for 6th Formers.
Alhamdulillah, with time, this work has expanded and
diversified into many other areas based on the
communitys needs and requests.

THE BADR 313 MEMBERSHIP

The Badr 313 is a supporters and well-wishers
group who make an annual donation to Khalil
Foundation. The Badr 313 gives brothers and
sisters, who believe in our vision, the opportunity to
make a real contribution towards realising it. It is
inspired by the companions of Badr who sacrificed
everything for the future of Islam. The Badr 313 will
consist of 313 members in each tier - the same
number as that of the companions of Badr - who will
make a small sacrifice and commitment to the future
of the Ummah and the preservation of the deen by
supporting Khalil Foundation.
We are looking for 313 members to donate a
minimum amount of 313 every year to enable us to
continue our work. You can become a member in
your own name, in the name of your parents and
elders or in the name of your family.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF BADR AND

THE 313 COMPANIONS
Two years after the Muslims of Makkah migrated to
Madinah to escape persecution at the hands of the
polytheists of Makkah, they were attacked by an
army of polytheists from Makkah who wanted to
wipe out Islam completely.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be
upon him) together with 313 companions took up
arms to defend against the attack and despite being
outnumbered three to one, was able to defend
Madinah and effectively save Islam.
According to Muslims, the battle of Badr was one of
the most significant battles in the history of mankind
as it protected Islam and established it as a religion
for the rest of time.

WHAT WILL YOUR DONATIONS

PAY FOR?
We have to support Islamic education because we
are its ultimate beneficiaries. Education supports the
Ummah locally and globally. This affects us, our
children, and our future generations. To keep the
edge in Islamic education, Khalil Foundation
depends on contributions from alumni, parents,
community friends, and other well-wishers to
support our work and to ensure its development and
growth. This is where you come in.
Your money will be used in the following areas:
STUDENTSHIP
A comprehensive package that will cover fees,
accommodation, and an annual stipend. This will only
be available for undergraduate level students
studying the Alimiyyah Programme.
SCHOLARSHIP
Enable Khalil foundation to support the best talent
for Islamic Studies. Ensure no worthy student has to
drop out from Islamic studies due to financial
difficulties. Keep learning accessible by keepings
top-up fees affordable for average Muslim families.

SUBSIDY FUND
Last year we subsidised 200K worth of course fees
for Islamic education. This is a vital service to enable
Muslim students to carry on with their Islamic studies.
HARDSHIP FUND
Each year many students apply for a course but
cannot afford the cost of studying, or begin a course
but are forced to drop out due to unexpected
financial difficulties. The grants will be awarded on a
needs basis subject to means testing.
COMMUNITY & DAWAH
Khalil Foundation has a portfolio of community
development and Dawah projects (including
Islamique Magazine, YourImam.com and Your
Qurbani) so we can reach out to the community in
general to enhance their knowledge of Islam,
eliminate any misconceptions and empower Muslims
to be active.
Therefore multiply your deeds by becoming a Badr
313 member. Help Khalil Foundation deliver its
vision to see a world educated in how best to serve
Allah and His creation.

WHEN A MAN PASSES AWAY, HIS GOOD DEEDS WILL ALSO

COME TO AN END EXCEPT FOR THREE THINGS: SADAQAH
JARIYAH; BENEFICIAL KNOWLEDGE, OR A VIRTUOUS
DESCENDANT WHO PRAYS FOR HIM (FOR THE DECEASED)
- Prophet Muhammad (saw)
