Atlas Copco Raise Drill

Robbins 97RL

Dimensions
The Robbins 97RL is a high power and low profile
raise drill, specially designed for mines with size
and weight restrictions. Despite its low profile, the
97RL is one of the largest raise drills ever produced.
Recommended diameter range is 2.4 up to 5.0 m
(8-17 ft.).

Features & Benefits

H Retracted

The digital DC drive incorporates the latest

electric technology enabling computer
controlled setup
A patented, two-piece swivel float box prevents
transfer of bending moments to the gearbox,
and a replaceable threaded insert lowers
maintenance costs
Rigid crosshead guide columns provide efficient
torque reaction
The low profile lay-out employ an offset drive
line with under slung motors, planetary gearing
and telescopic cylinders

An in-line swivel, enables efficient transmission

of any flushing media to clear the pilot hole
Small footprint requires a smaller drilling pad
and fewer tie down bolts

Electric Drive System

Air or Diesel Powered Crawler

The DC drive has been refined greatly over the past 2 decades
and has become a very reliable and versatile drive. This drive
system has proven performance on larger raises where low rpm
must be accompanied by high torque. Because of the variable
rpm and good torque limiting control, the DC drive is best suited
for medium to large diameter size machines. Since 1992
digitally controlled DC drives have been used on raise drills.

Air and diesel powered crawlers has been adapted for use in
transporting and erecting the derrick assembly. The crawler
offers complete independence from the mine infrastructure for
transport and erect the machine. All crawlers are remote
controlled, either by cord or radio controlled.

Sled Erector

Pipeloader

The sled erector is intended as the simplest support and

erection platform. Skids are provided on the sled so that it
can be dragged into place. Both erection cylinders have
integral counterbalance (holding) valves for improved
safety of operation. The sled erector might be rail mounted
or provided on a rubber tired vehicle.

The remote controlled groundloading pipeloader contributes to improved raise boring efficiency. The unit can be
mounted on either side of the mainframe, which makes the
raise boring machine more adaptable to individual site
requirements.

service, on-site trouble shooting, telephone
trouble shooting, training and rebuild expertise,
and facilities. Robbins service technicians are
located in key mining markets around the world.
We also assist in the search, evaluation and
purchase of used raise drills.

All machines are delivered with an

extensive set-up of technical literature;
covering operation, spare parts,
maintenance and service instructions.
The literature is easy to read, and
illustrated with photos, graphs, drawings
and exploded views

Parts & Service

Strategic spare parts are available to support
your operation. Atlas Copco raise boring
parts are in inventory on local key-markets
and the factory. If not in inventory, parts are
manufactured to order.

Upgrade Kits
Robbins Raise Drills have proven to last for a
long time. Many of the units manufactured
since 1962 are still in production. To ensure
that these units will continue working at a
reasonable cost with minimum down time and
maximum productivity, we have developed a
range of upgrade kits that can be fitted to the
machines.
