Maximum Wireless Capacity

Increased throughput and reduced cost
XA-Appliances deliver the most advanced satellite and wireless optimization in
easy to install appliances, right-sized for the bandwidth and number of users
at each location. For small and medium sized sites, set-top-box appliances are
easily installed without the need for trained IT staff. For very high speed links
or central aggregation sites, fully redundant appliances can optimize links up to
155 Mbps and support thousands of simultaneous sessions, typically increasing
bandwidth from 2X to 10X for all TCP applications.

XE - Embedded XipOS

Voice, Skype, small packet compression

Xiplink Optimization System (XipOS) is available on Xiplink XA-appliances,

virtual machines for portable devices using XipLink-XE soft optimizers or Single
board computers within our XipLink-XS specialty device line. A central XAAppliance can support remote users runing any XipOS based solution. Based
on the Space Communications Protocol Specification (SCPS) acceleration
standard, XipOS optimization simultaneously works with secure and un-secure
users over any wireless, wireline or hybrid network.

XipLink Optimization Software (XipOS)

XipLink Optimization Software (XipOS) delivers maximum bandwidth across wireless
communication links using extensions of the Space Communication Protocol
Specification (SCPS) and innovative compression techniques designed by Xiplink.
Protocol acceleration, header and payload compression, advanced intelligent QoS
and Internet web browsing enhancements are combined in very efficient, scalable,
easy-to-install appliances, single board computers and virtual machines with
options for integrated IPSec VPN and Dynamic Web Caching.

Remote user sessions are transparently split, or proxied, with new sessions opened
across the link using protocol acceleration and data compression to overcome
common wireless issues:
Varying latency (delay) due to long links and mobility
High bit error rates due to constantly changing RF link conditions
Link asymmetry via return rate differences or hybrid return links
Dynamically changing data rates, such as ACM and advanced TDMA
XipOS offers multiple techniques to optimize web browsing, providing both
capacity savings and faster browsing. All products incorporate basic HTTP
Acceleration capabilities. The dynamic caching option will typically save 20-30%
of the bandwidth. Xiplink Hub Optimization (XHO), using lossless and lossy
compression techniques, can save a further 10-30% of bandwidth.
The Xiplink Real Time (XRT) feature set provides up to 50% savings on voice and
small packet traffic by using standards based header compression and packet
coalescing. This not only saves bandwidth, , it also significantly lowers the packetsper-second (PPS) on the network.
XipOS provides users with deployment flexibility that accommodates bridge mode,
router mode, transparent mode, tunnel mode, in-line mode, out-of-path mode,
single-interface mode, and WCCP deployment mode. XipOS based platforms can
operate in any of these configurations, independent of the mode used on the
other side of the link. Xiplinks advanced web GUI configuration and monitoring
interface, makes the system very simple to configuration and install in any network.
