Position Title: Human Resources Manager Indianapolis, Indiana

The Position
Becker Landscape Contractors, Inc. is an award-winning, family-owned business, founded in
1976. Services include commercial and residential maintenance, commercial construction and
design/build, lawn application, irrigation, and snow removal. Our company consistently strives

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will promote and share our values of integrity and
commitment to quality. S/he will work in a hands-on culture of teambuilding and care and
proactively work with the management team and all employees.

HR Managers goals are to champion employees while supporting, reinforcing and creating
company goals and objectives.
Duties
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel;
assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures;
prepares and maintains employee handbook and standard operation procedures
manual.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Recommends
new approaches, to achieve continual improvements to the department and services
performed.
- Conducts all staffing and recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel,
H2B, students and temporary employees; writes and places advertisements, participates
in selection process and conducts new employee orientation. Handles employee
relations, counseling, and exit interviewing.
- Develops, encourages and administers employee training and orientation for personal
and professional growth for ongoing employee development.
- Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program
and revises as necessary. Ensures performance evaluations are implemented and
processed in a timely manner.
- Performs annual re-evaluation of benefit and wellness policies for cost-effectiveness,
communication program, and insurance policies, including auto, work comp, property
and casualty.
- Oversees company safety efforts providing input for annual company goals, conducts
injury and accident investigations and reporting, identifies improvements for the safety
program.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings, management team meetings, community
recruiting venues and seminars
- Maintains key employee communication notifications related to human resources
- Maintains knowledge and compliance with federal and state employment and benefits
regulations
- Plans and or assists with general employee meetings, company-wide training and other
special events
- Supervises the Payroll/HR Administrator and reports to the CEO

Education, Experience, & Skills


Required:
-Bachelors degree in human resources, business management, or equivalent area of study
-5-10 years of human resources experience
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal
-Strong business ethics & personal integrity
-Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred:
-Great Plains software and Greenshades experience preferred
