Donaldson and | responded to 22 W. Main regarding an assault that occurred there. Upon arrival, we contacted one of the victims, EE statement is summarized as follows: On 12202015 at approximately 0220, [IEEE were closing up the bar at Zola's where they work, when Julianna and Josh came to the door requesting to use the bathroom. told them they could not use the restroom and Julianna became enraged. She lunged towards| who then pushed her towards the door. Atthe door, Josh began trying to hold Julianna back, when she kicked both {MEE said that she kicked him twice in the groin While | spoke with ME Conc! Kakuda interviewed | advised Cpl Kakuda statements. Cpl Kakuda advised that he had PC to charge Julianna with two counts of City Assault (based on | statements). Main Avenue, City of Spokane, State of Washington for a report of a fight. | arrived on-scene and several officers were already there. | was advised that they had PC for Julianna Pena for two counts of City Assault. Julianna was then advised that she was under arrest and we placed her hands behind her back Once there, | placed handcuffs on Julianna, checked for fit and double locked them. | then searched her incident to arrest and secured her in the back seat of my patrol vehicle to be transported. | then transported Julianna to the Spokane County Jail where she was booked for two counts of City Assault with citation 521213789. Division (Globe) on a suspicious person call. Officers were advised that earlier two people involved in an assault call had returned to the business. The two people were attempting to enter the closed business. Upon arrival, officers checked the area for the people involved in the incident without any success. Shortly thereafter, officers were advised that the incident was occurring at Zola (22 W. Main), involving subjects who are professional fighters. Sgt. Kannberg, Officer Quarles and | responded across the street to Zola. An unidentified male pointed to a parking lot, just east of Zola's. | observed two males and a female in the parking lot. One of the males was identified as being Joshua Gow. Gow’s face was bloody from an earlier altercation. | then contacted the other male who told me that they are “training partners," and did not witness anything. He just wanted to make sure that they were alright. Next, | was contacted by a male who was identified as being ES told me that he is employed at Zola as [IEEE He said that a female (Julianna Pena) and Gow entered the closed business. They were told that the business was closed, but wanted to clean up in the restroom, [INNNNNNNNNMexplained to Pena and Gow that the business was closed and the restrooms had already been cleaned, denying them entry. He stated Pena became “irate” and kicked him in the groin area with her right foot. [IINNNNNNINIseid Pena wanted to fight with him, but he was able to escort her out of the business told me that Gow did not assault them, but was intoxicated and wanted to help Pena. He said they attempted to again enter the business, but was locked out. Kannberg) responded to the Globe reference a large fight. Upon arrival nothing was found. Radio then advised there was a fight at Zola's (22 W. Main) involving MMA fighters. Officers then walked down to this location. observed 6 subjects walking away. The group separated and 3 went behind Burachos. | contacted these 3 subjects with Cpl. Kakuda and Officer Quarles. ‘Two subjects, Julianna Pena and Joshua Gow, had obviously been drinking. Officer Quarles and | talked to these 2 subjects. Cpl. Kakuda talked to the other male, Mr. Gow ended up sitting on the ground and he was bleeding from the face. Officer Quarles talked to Mr. Gow. See his report. | spoke to Ms. Pena. (paraphrased) Ms. Pena stated they were MMA fighters and Mr. Gow was her training partner. She stated they had been in a fight with 20 people in front of the Globe, Mr. Gow suffered a facial injury which he was now bleeding from. They went to Zola’s because she knew the owner and she was going to get Mr. Gow cleaned up. She stated they would let her in the bar but refused to let Mr. Gow in because he was bleeding. She indicted they left. 1 asked her if anything happed and Zola’s and she stated no, | was informed that Mr. Pena had assaulted 2 subjects at Zola’s. She was arrested for this assault. At this time Ms. Pena is ranked #5 in the UFC according to stats located on the internet. No further police action was taken. This incident was captured on my body camera. ‘Sgt. When | arrived on scene | was asked to go to the bar and see if there were any witnesses. | contacted [NINN He told me: They had closed the bar when a female and male, identified as Juliana Pena and Joshua Gow, re-entered the bar. They had been there earlier but had left. Joshua was bleeding and they wanted to clean him up. They were told to leave by the bar tenders and bouncers. As the bouncers were trying to escort them out, Pena kicked oil the groin then kicked {in the groin twice as Pena and Gow were being pushed outside. began rubbing his bloody face on the front window. They pushed them out the outside door and ii closes it between the bouncers and the suspects. When they began walking away the bouncers followed them to keep them in sight, 75° I contacted Cpl.
