Tecwill COBRA
THE COBRA CONCRETE MIXING PLANT represents the newest
way of thinking in the entire concrete production process. A COBRA
operates like a stationary plant, yet it can be easily relocated due to its
patented special construction. The plant is quick to install and start-up
and therefore it can also be relocated in the most cost- effective way.
A COBRA concrete mixing plant runs at full production capacity even
in the harshest environmental conditions; it is designed to operate in
the coldest winters and hottest summers.
The COBRA series consists of the MINI COBRA, STANDARD
COBRA and SUPER COBRA concrete mixing plants.
Standard and super cobra concrete mixing plants are equipped with
an on-the-fly aggregate weighing system developed by Tecwill Oy.
Dosing, weighing and transporting aggregate to the intermediate
hopper on the top of the mixer occur simultaneously. Dosing and
transporting conveyors are inverter controlled, which enables
the optimum speed and accuracy of gross and fine dosing of the
aggregate. Thanks to on-the-fly aggregate weighing system the
plant erection and any subsequent relocation to another place is fast
and easy.
All COBRA models are winter equipped and can also be equipped
with an effective TURBO aggregate heating system which guarantees
concrete production even in the coldest conditions. A COBRA uses
either a planetary or a twin shaft mixer depending on the model.
The COBRA concrete mixing plants are ideal for construction
specialists in the production of ready-mixed concrete, concrete for
element or concrete product manufacturing and construction project
sites. Special models offer solutions also for ash and bentonite mixing.

Steel foundation

The MOBILE COBRA is a highly mobile concrete mixing


plant which can be installed onto a steel foundation.
Foundation is placed on adequate load-bearing
ground.
Thanks to the on-the-fly aggregate weighing system
the low profile aggregate silo needs only a very
low filling ramp and minimize the operating space.
Integrated aggregate silo ramp elements together with
the plants steel foundation guarantee a rapid and costeffective relocation and start-up of production.
If the installation site of the mixing plant does not have
a powerline network or sufficient energy supply, all
COBRA plants can also be equipped with an electric
generator. The generator can be installed into a
container and be used in all possible conditions.

The COBRA plants are equipped with a modern WillControl


production control system which automatizes the concrete
production process. The WillControl streamlines the routines of
concrete manufacturing for the company so that resources can
be directed to core business. Thanks to the real time monitoring
and reporting features the control system is also well suited for
management needs. The control system is composed of different
software modules according to the customers needs. The
interface uses the language desired. The WillControl system fills
all the requirements of the EN-206 standard.

If the installation site of the mixing plant does not have


a water network, a cold water storage can be delivered
with the plant. It is possible to place it in an insulated
container or it can be a separate heat-insulated tank
equipped with heating element. Required water for the
concrete production will be pumped out from the tank.

A PATENTED SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION


Thanks to a patented special construction a COBRA plant can be fully
assembled already at the factory. Structurally the plant is composed of
factory tested modules and the electric and automation connections
between the modules are made with rapid plugin connectors. After
the factory preparations the on-site installation and production startup are quick. The result is a highly efficient and compact concrete
mixing plant which can produce high quality concrete in all environmental conditions and can yet be quickly and easily relocated when
needed.
ON-THE-FLY WEIGHING
On-the-fly weighing system developed by Tecwill Oy provides great
benefits compared to any traditional way of weighing the aggregate.
Aggregate batching is proceeded by belt feeders, which can be
controlled by a frequency converter. Aggregate dosing will about 50%
more accurate than the standard dosing.
Aggregates horizontal conveyor is about 1 - 2 meters lower than the
conventional belt weigher and therefore the aggregate silo is also 1- 2
meters lower. This will minimize the operating space at the production
site and lowers the filling ramp. On-the-fly weighing system functions
without a skip conveyor which takes much space, extra electricity and
reduce the capacity of the plant.
MIXERS
The COBRA plants can be equipped with a planetary or twin shaft
mixer according to the needed production capacity and needed types
of concrete. A planetary mixer is well suited for concrete element
and product factories but also for ready-mixed concrete plants. When
extensive production volume is needed the twin shaft mixer is the
correct choice. Both mixers are available in a wide range of equipment
options.
FOUNDATIONS
The foundations of a COBRA plant are quite simple and cost effective
to make. A COBRA is well suited for flat ground. Underground pits
or bumps is not needed, such as e.g. mixing plant with skip. As an
alternative for a concrete foundation there is a steel foundation. Steel
foundation is quick to assemble and after the completion of the project it can be relocated together with the plant. The Cobra structure
and On-the-fly weighing system enables low aggregate filling ramp.

WINTER EQUIPMENT
A COBRA plant operates reliably even in the winter. The
plant is fully thermally insulated including roofs and floors.
All indoor production premises are equipped with heating
and lighting. All winter equipment is factory installed, which
enables the plant to be installed in just few days even in the
winter.
The aggregate silos are equipped with racks and thermally
insulated covers, which can be opened with the control panel.
AGGREGATE HEATING
The effective TURBO aggregate heating system guarantees
concrete production also during the coldest winter. The
heating system heats the aggregate in the silos by using dry
TURBO steam at 300 C. At the same time the system also
heats the hot water needed in the production and takes care
of heating the production premises.
HOT CONCRETE PRODUCTION
In order to produce high quality hot concrete the system uses
the WillConHot program. After defining the goal temperature
of concrete in the control system, the program take into account the temperatures of the raw materials and calculates
the required amount of hot water so that the desired target
temperature is achieved. The concrete temperature is measured in the mixer and the value for example, can be printed
on consignment note.

AN AGGREGATE SILO FILLING SYSTEM


The system consists of a receiving hopper, a lifting conveyor and
aggregate dividing equipment. The aggregate can be transported to
the silos by a belt conveyor or a VERTEC vertical conveyance system
developed by Tecwill Oy. The VERTEC fits into an extremely small area
and can also be connected with the MOBILE COBRA plants.
A CAMERA SYSTEM
The COBRA plants can be equipped with a camera control system.
The operator can monitor the different stages of the production
process in real time from the screen in the control room
AGGREGATE MOISTURE MEASUREMENT
The moisture of the fine grain aggregate can be measured with sensors which are continuously sending real time moisture data to the
control system. The control system automatically takes into account
the data when calculating the water amounts needed in the batch.

AN ELECTRIC GENERATOR
If the installation site of the mixing plant does not have sufficient
energy supply or the costs of energy are too high, all COBRA plants
can also be equipped with an electric generator. The generator can
be installed into a container and used in all possible conditions.
RECYCLING WATER DOSING AND
CONCRETE RECLAIMING SYSTEMS
The washing waters of the mixer and truck mixers can be recycled
back to the concrete manufacturing process. Concrete waste is
processed with handling equipment which separates the coarse
aggregate and recycling water from each other. Coarse aggregate
can be taken back to the manufacturing process or to use for other
purpose.

On-the-fly aggregate weighing system enables all the aggregates


moisture measurement with a single sensor tray, which is installed
on aggregate flow. A cylinder drops the sensor at the flow point of
selected aggregate. For coarse aggregate the sensor is on the top.

Recycled water is poured into settling pool 1- 3 pcs, which is


dosed back to the manufacturing process by a pump according
to the given parameters in the control system. Recycled water
can be further treated with filter press in which fine aggregate are
separated from the water. The end result is a clear water that can
be used without restrictions for concrete production instead of
pure water.

STEEL FIBER DOSING


The plant can be equipped with a fully automated system for dosing
steel and/or plastic fiber. The on-the-fly aggregate weighing system
enables fiber dosing to aggregate flow in which case it is mixed better and the quality of the concrete is homogeneous.

A WASHING WATER CHANNEL


A washing water channel can be installed to a COBRA if there is a
need to empty the mixer washing waters directly to the recycling
water system. The channel can be easily turned under the mixer
when needed.

A MIXER FLUSHING AND WASHING SYSTEM


In order to wash the mixer a low or high pressure flushing system
can be used. In low-pressure system water is pumped from the water
scale through nozzles into the mixer. The high pressure washing system uses a separate washing unit. The washing water is flushed with
rotating nozzle system.

QUICK TARRING OF THE SCALES


A quick tarring system for checking the scales and helping to
calibrate the scales can be installed to the plants scales. The scale
reading is checked with tested proof weights which are lifted with
pneumatic cylinders.
A DOSING SYSTEM FOR COLORS OR DRY ADDITIVES
The system is suitable for dosing dry additives or color additives.
According to the customers needs the dry additive, for example
silica, can be dosed out of 40kg bigbag sacks or from the silos. Dry
or liquid color additives can also be dosed if needed for example
to produce colorized concrete products.

A COBRA plant can also be made with two mixers. In
addition to the ready-mix usage, the plant can, for example,
deliver concrete for an element or concrete product factory.
It is also possible to separate the production of concrete
and mortar into their own mixers.

A COBRA plant for a concrete element


or product factory
A COBRA plant specially designed for concrete product factories
produces concrete for manufacturing of concrete or lightweight
aggregate products. The plant can be equipped with a color
dosing system to manufacture colorized products. It is also
possible to include the transportation of the concrete from the
mixing plant to the product production machine into the delivery.

The COBRA stabilization plant


Tecwill has also developed a special COBRA model for ash
stabilization. An ash stabilization plant can process hazardous ashes
by using applicable binder materials in such a way that for example
the heavy metal in the ash will not dissolve and transfer back to the
environment. The stabilized ash can be used for example in ground
engineering. It is also possible to granulate the stabilized ash with
a separate granulating unit. The granulating unit can transform the
ash into different size granules depending on the planned use.

The COBRA bentonite plant


A COBRA bentonite mixing plant is designed for effective
and high quality mixing of bentonite clay. Thanks to the
unique weighing and mixing system of the COBRA plant the
bentonite clay, soil, possible water and additives can be mixed
homogenously. A MOBILE COBRA bentonite model can be easily
moved from a jobsite to another.
