SECTION D: Write a composition about 180 words.(vit on vn khong 180 t)

1 Suggest measures to protect our environment
One of the ways to do this is through education. Children need to learn the importance of recycling, not just
from their parents, but in their school environment. Learning by example is also paramount. Schools (and I know
some do) and community organizations should have comprehensive programs in place to encourage and support
waste management. How simple is it to rinse bottles and tins, squash them and recycle them along with newspaper
and paper - especially considering the volumes of these items in schools. I know plastic is more challenging but
we're overcoming that problem too - through education.
Also print less from the computer, save your e-statements to a 'stick' instead of copying them, dry your clothes
naturally whenever possible ( a reliance on technology can make us lazy!!). What about turning off the TV and
engaging in some good, old-fashioned conversation??
Some schools hear the mention of the words 'support programs' when it comes to getting involved and envisage
enormous set-up costs. However, it is very inexpensive to set up programs for recycling and space is a bigger issue
as waste needs to be separated. To the many schools that do already do this, that's great and it is up to parents to
then ensure that the environment at home is conducive to continuing the recycling process. Again, a cheap but lifechanging process!
Repurposing is a new catch - word and can be added to the 'reduce, reuse, recycle' mantra. It's exciting to see
old, seemingly useless objects turned into new furniture and so on with minimal effort, a little bit of vision and
without any harmful effects on the environment.
And let's not forget all the natural resources out there. It's time for the arrogance of humanity to have a reality
check and for us all to do our own little bit. So let's educate and innovate - even on a small scale - and make our
contribution.
2. The causes of air pollution in big cities and how to solve them.

Nowadays, the increasing number of private vehicles are the main cause of congestion and air pollution which
threat directly human's life in cities. In order to reserve this decline, I agree with the solution that people were
encouraged to use their car less and public transport more by two reasons.
Firstly, reducing means of transports in cities is always the biggest problem of every governments in over the
world. It is cause of traffic jam everyday. In addition, it also makes the huge number of car accidents, especially in
Viet Nam.
Secondly, pollution environment is now the big trouble of every countries. One of several cause is that the large
number air pollution of vehicles. It is cause of skin diseases, lung cancer, and so on... In order to reduce air
pollution, we must cut down transport vehicle first.
In conclusion, encouraging people to use their car less and public more is the best solution. However, it is all
depend on people's mind.
3. Many different types of music in the world today.
It is true that a rich variety of musical styles can be found around the world. Music is a vital part of all
human cultures for a range of reasons, and I would argue that traditional music is more important than modern,
international music.
Music is something that accompanies all of us throughout our lives. As children, we are taught songs by
our parents and teachers as a means of learning language, or simply as a form of enjoyment. Children delight in
singing with others, and it would appear that the act of singing in a group creates a connection between
participants, regardless of their age. Later in life, peoples musical preferences develop, and we come to see our
favourite songs as part of our life stories. Music both expresses and arouses emotions in a way that words alone
cannot. In short, it is difficult to imagine life without it.
In my opinion, traditional music should be valued over the international music that has become so popular.
International pop music is often catchy and fun, but it is essentially a commercial product that is marketed and sold
by business people. Traditional music, by contrast, expresses the culture, customs and history of a country.
Traditional styles, such as ...(example)..., connect us to the past and form part of our cultural identity. It would be a
real pity if pop music became so predominant that these national styles disappeared.
In conclusion, music is a necessary part of human existence, and I believe that traditional music should be
given more importance than international music.

1. Advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city
Big city is where you can see many vehicles, many skyscrapers, many peple with a hurry pace of life. That
place can fascinate us very much due to its light and luxury. Nowadays, more and more people want to live there
because they see many advantages. Indeed, in a big city, people can have the best chances to work as well as can
enjoy the best service and entertaiment. In a big city, people can take the chances to study and work best. You can
express your ability to study what you like. Moreover, when you graduate, you also find it easier to find chances to
get a good job with good salary.
However, there are a lot of disadvantages of living in a big city. Air pollution is a big disadvantage that people
living in big cities have to face. Big cities attract a lot of investments of inside and outside country, so the number
of factories is increasing fast. This makes the air extremely polluted by smoke from factories, trucks, and
motorbikes. Another disadvantage is traffic jam. There are a lot of people and transportation in big cities, so traffic
jam is an unavoidable problem.
2. Travel as a means of education
Travelling in the younger sort is a part of education, in the elder a part of experience. Travelling is
undoubtedly a great experience in life. Those who can afford to travel should never miss the chance to do so.
Different people have different motives for travelling. Some travel for business, others for sight-seeing, some
for sheer necessity and many for the sake of seeing the wonders of the world. There are a few who travel from a
sense of a social vanity as travelling enables them to display their knowledge before others.
Travelling is better than books in many respects. Travelling appeals to all senses whereas the books only to the
mind. What is seen and heard leaves a deeper and more lasting impression than what is read in books.
Travel is a source of education in yet another way. It helps in the formation of literature. It enables us to get
thoughts by conversing with great men of other countries. We are able to see new things of art and nature. We come
across new natural sights and scenes such as mountains, rivers, and lakes.
3. The causes of air pollution in big cities and how to solve them
Nowadays, the increasing number of private vehicles are the main cause of congestion and air pollution which
threat directly human's life in cities. In order to reserve this decline, I agree with the solution that people were

4. What would you do to change about your hometown?

If I could change one thing about my hometown, I would like to build some useful and advanced facilities for
its use. A modern library, an advanced broad band system and a modern gym may bring a lot of changes to people
living in my hometown and keep them up with the latest information and technology.
To popularize the use of broadband cable system at homes enables people to get a quick access to the Internet
and TV channels. Because of the Internet, our lives have been changed a lot. We can read news, shopping, chat with
our friends, send pictures to anyone and watch the movies online.
People can also have a lot of choices over TV programs offered through a broadband. People will have more
choices to enjoy life and the advanced technology at home.
Besides learning and entertaining, we also need to do exercises to keep a healthy life. This is the reason why I
want to build a modern gym in my hometown. Through exercises such as swimming, jogging, people can enhance
their immune systems and enjoy life fully.
5. The advantages of Internet in your life
As we know, Internet has come an important part of our daily life and nobody never knows about Internet or
can deny the benefit of Internet.
The first, I want to mention the idea of its advantages. Internet is a excellent communicating information
instrument and called information superhighway. So you can chat to your friends and relatives or share the learning
documents. In education, teachers can consult other teacherss lesson plans all over the world. Students can use the
Internet for research for the purpose of search resources and watch online lectures of the famous schools. Im sure
you will study better with Internet.
In bussiness, the big companies can advertise their products throught Internet so that their customers can
choose whatever they like without going anywhere. You can pay bills by your electric bank account.
And if you like entertainments you can relax by playing games, listening to online music or watching video on
Youtube. Through Internet, you can talk your idols or read newspaper and magazines.
6. How to conserve our environment
Today, when environment is being polluted , everyone has only one question on their mind that is how to save
environment from being polluted. According to me, to conserve our environment, we should do some simple ways,
especially at home.
Firstly, turn off whats not in use: Running the tap while brushing your teeth can waste 15 liters of water.
Secondly, fix any leaks: Leaky faucets that drip at the rate of one drop per second can waste up to 10,000 liters
of water each year.
Thirdly, recycle, reuse: Everything takes water to make. Buy only when you need to and reuse what you can. It
takes 2500 liters to make a cotton t-shirt and 10,000 liters for a pair of jeans. Buy fewer clothes, and when using a
washing machine or dishwasher, wait till you have enough for a full-load.
Least but not least, 50 percent of water used in gardening goes waste due to evaporation or runoff caused by
over-watering. Check if your garden actually needs watering. This will help retain moisture and save water, time,
and money.
7. The advantages of the ATM card
In our country, there are a lot of banks which distribute ATM cards, for examples, Vietcombank, ACB bank,
BIDV... Each bank distributes different kinds of ATM card. I think ten thousand miles card is the most popular
card. So now, Ill only say about it!
First thing I want to present is structure of ATM card. ATM card is made in plastic. In the front of card, you can
see account number of user, it includes sixteen numbers. And period of using card. At the bottom there is name of
user. In the back of it, we can see a black range. Its a magnetic stripe a very important part of card.
When using something, we usually care about advantages. That is:
1. You dont need carry cash if you go some places which have ATM.
2. If your ATM card is stolen, your money is safe because the criminal would need your PIN to access your
funds.
3. If you need cash, you dont need go to bank. You can access your money at an ATM every time of day or
night.
4. You dont need pay the common transactions fees.
8. The importance of water
All living things need water. The Earth is full of water. Water is the most essential element, next to air, to our
survival. Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, we would die in a
few days.
Humans and other creatures must drink water. But is has many other uses. People use water to bathe, to brush
their teeth, to build structures such as houses and schools, and to make products from toothpaste and paper to
clothing and bricks.
Water kills thousands of people and destroys many acres of crops every year. But water also gives life to all
living things in the world. We must have water to grow our food, feed the birds and animals in our homes, grow
forests and produce electricity.

There are many water importances in our life to complete daily life and to maintain we body health. Humans
and other creatures must drink water to avoid dehydration.
9. Which is better, health or wealth?
This is an old proverb. It means that it is always better to be healthy than wealthy. A man may be immensely
rich. He may have all the luxuries one can dream of. But if he has a grave disease like cancer or something, all his
wealth becomes useless. He will not be able to enjoy comforts. He will be slowly crawling inch by inch towards
death. Apart from that he has to suffer the mental agony arising from his realization. He will be as good as dead.
But if a man is health even if he has no wealth, he can be happy. As he is healthy, he can always work and earn his
daily bread. He can lead a happy and contented life with what he has. As he is healthy, there will be no diseases to
bother him. He may not be able to spend lavishly or afford luxuries. Therefore it is true to say that health is
10. Why do people need to attend colleges or universities?
Reasons for people to attend college or university are enormous and depend on ones attitudes. But the three
most important ones that make people choose college or university as the gate to their future are job opportunities,
increased knowledge and essential skills preparation for future life.
Fisrt, I think the most important reason is that people can get a good job if they have a certificate, especially the
one of famous college or university. Second, this maybe the last chance for people to study in such an academic
environment where professor teach them plenty of knowledge in may aspects; as a rule, they try their best to collect
as good as possible in the subject the like. Last, people want to prepare a certain skills which cannot lack in the
developed society namely competitive experience, group work Those skills will be efficient weapons for them to
compete with others in order to get the job they want.
Beside this, people who tend to apply what they learned in college or university choose the best way to reach
success. What is more, this is the chance for people to live apart from their family.
