Method at the Grade V SDN 1 Mbuwu Distric of South Banawa, Donggala

The problem of the research is still found students of grade V SDN 1 Mbuwu had error in
using capital letter in learning Indonesian subject. This shows that the ability of students in
using capital letter need to be improved. Therefore, the researcher applying guided excercise
method in order to make the materials taught more fun and can improve students ability in
using capital letter and outcomes of students at grade V. Design of this reserach is class action
reserach which is aims to improve students ability in using capital letter through guided
excercise method at the grade V SDN 1 Mbuwu. This research is done in two cycles. The
sample of this research is all students of grade V with the total number of the students is 15
students, consisted of 10 boys and 5 girls. Based on the test on first cycle, there are 9 of 15
students passed with classical completenes is 60%. The result of observation of teacher
activities on first cycle is 63.75% and the result of observation of students activities is
64.28%. On the second cycle, the students who passed the test is 13 students of 15 students
with the classical completnes 86.66%. The result of observation of teacher activities on
second cycle is 88.75% and the result of observation of students activities is 85.71%. Based
on the data, it can be concluded that by using guided excercise method, the students ability
of the grade V SDN Mbuwu in using capital letter can be improved

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa menggunakan huruf
kapital melalui metode latihan terbimbing di kelas V SDN 1 Mbuwu Kecamatan Banawa
Selatan Kabupaten Donggala. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang
dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas V dengan
jumlah siswa sebanyak 15 siswa terdiri dari 10 laki-laki dan 5 perempuan. Berdasarlan hasil
test yang dilaksanakan pada siklus pertama, jumlah siswa yang tuntas ada 9 dari 15 siswa
dengan ketuntasan klasikal 60%. Hasil observasi aktifitas guru pada siklus pertama 63.75%
dan hasil observasi aktifitas siswa 64.28%. Pada siklus kedua, jumlah siswa yang tuntas
yaitu 13 dari 15 siswa dengan ketuntasan klasikal 86.66%. Hasil observasi aktifitas guru pada
siklus 88.75% and dan hasil observasi aktifitas siswa 85.71%. Berdasarkan dari hasi tersebut
bisa disimpulkan bahwa penggunanan metode latihan terbimbing bisa meningkatkan
kemampuan siswa kelas V dalam menggunakan huruf besar.
