Were hiring Packaging Engineer, Toronto Area

We are growing and want you to join us. We are looking for a qualified packaging
engineer to join the team in our Toronto offices.
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, development
and implementation of thermal packaging systems for the Life Sciences industries.
He/she will apply sound scientific, engineering and current regulatory knowledge for the
planning and execution of project developments. He/she will execute and supervise
scientific studies and manage laboratory activities. He/she will also manage the
development of standardized test procedures, policies, and standards for the department.
He/she will assure compliance with regulatory packaging requirements for both domestic
and international clients. Position must collaborate with other Company functions such
as: Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. He/she will be recognized as a
technical expert for packaging design, materials, processes, and problem resolution.
CORE FUNCTIONS:

Develop, Design and Qualify packaging to meet changing needs and requirements
of Cold Chain supply and handling.

Maintains, monitors and supports the Quality, Safety, Regulations, Validation and
Testing of Infitraks Thermal Packaging.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

Executes and supervises scientific studies and manages packaging laboratory


activities.

Write and execute CQ/DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for thermal and physical


packaging design and qualification.

Manages the development of standardized test procedures, policies, and standards


for the department.

Assures compliance with regulatory packaging requirements.

Meet any ISO 9000 requirements that need to be met.

Collaborate with other company functions such as: Marketing, Regulatory Affairs
and Quality Assurance.

Be recognized as a technical Expert for packaging design, materials, processes,


and problem resolution.

Represents department in project team meetings and works closely clients to meet
project timelines and objectives.

Schedules and organizes meetings to ensure smooth operation and timely review
of projects.

Develops and maintains a current in-depth knowledge of global regulatory


requirements, GMP requirements & ISO 9000, and maintains up to date
knowledge of state of the art solutions and thermal packaging strategies though
trade journals, seminars, and trade shows.

Desired Skills and Experience


QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a Degree in Packaging, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.

4 Years Experience in Pharmaceutical Biologics or Medical Device Field for


packaging design and development is preferred.

Working knowledge of GMP, ISO, FDA, NSTA, ISTA, ASTM and other
regulatory issues relating to Pharmaceutical Cold Chain packaging.

Experience in Cold Chain shipping requirements including validation.

Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for


customers.

Ability to manage multiple, complex projects.

Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to prepare technical
reports and presentations.

Creation of schedules and tracking of tasks to these schedules.

Ability to assess technical opportunities as needed and to make appropriate


assessments and recommendations to management.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and 3D/ CAD management software.

Valid Canadian drivers license.
