Once upon a time, a well-to-do couple lived in the northern
side of San Pablo, a progressive city in southeastern Luzon.They
had a large garden of Tamarind trees which bore the sweetest
fruits.They were very proud of their trees so they built a fence
around it so no stranger s could pick any of the fruits. They even
put abig watchdog to guard it
To test their hospitality, God sent a fairy disguised as a
beggar who approached and asked for fruits.The couple sent her
away,but the old woman.with s much ado,stretched out her
wrinkled hand and pludked one of the fruits.
The couple got so angry they set their dog loose upon the
beggar and the old woman was badly bitten.The old beggar in
pain exclaimed,You shall be punished for your selfishness.
The next morning ,the couple went out to find that their
trees had disappeared and in their place was a vast expanse of
water.Underneath the water, they saw the tamarind tres still
rooted to the sunken grounds.The place was became known as

Zebras outfit kept going well into the morning .Soon all the
Zebras in the jungle,were painting themselves in stripes.Soon,all
zebras around the wprld were doing it too.
After a while Mr. And Mrs. Zebra got tired of stripes.But
when they tried to wash off their stripes they found out that the
paint had sunk in well beyond their fur.They couldnt get it off for
anything.Soon all the zebras started getting tired of stripes,but
they couldnt get off theirs either!
To this day,the zebras atill cant get their striped off. That is
why the zebra has stripes!
