The aim of ACA is to achieve the best IL values, i.e. minimising the
fiber eccentricity to the ferrule outer diameter as well as achieving a
perfectly aligned exit angle. As part of this ACA process, the metallic
end face of the two-component ferrule is shaped in such a way on
one side that the material deformation causes the fiber core to move
to the middle of the ferrule central axis in a controlled manner.

For its Power Solution (PS) connections, DIAMOND makes use of

various beam expansion methods (Expanded Beam, short EB) which

These wavelengths often require very small fiber cores.
