deliver to your site or office and leave a replacement

Topcon has released a new range of invar, aluminium and wooden

bar code staves suitable for use with the Topcon DL-500 digital level
series. Designed specifically to be used with the DL-500, the new
range of staves feature the RAB (RAndom-Bidirectional) bar coding
technology which enables the level to automatically detect whether
it is in the normal position or inverted, as well as enable the rock
and read functionality.
The new invar staves graduations are engraved within the external
coating by an interferometrically controlled laser beam, ensuring
superior graduation accuracy and edge sharpness. Random
graduation errors on the invar staves are less than 0.005 mm.

PLS HVR 505 MULTI-PURPOSE LASER LEVELS
The RL-VH4G2 has four times the power of any red beam laser
and can even be used with ease in direct sunlight.
The PLS HVR 505 is a fully automatic,

self-levelling rotating laser which projects a
solid visible light beam onto any surface for
alignment purposes.
The RL-VH4D is the powerful red beam counterpart, offering the same
advanced functions along with one of the most visible and accurate red
beams available. The self-levelling RL-VH4 series has many advanced
features.
The robust 505 series features plumb points up

and down, four different rotation speeds, a target
scanning function and horizontal and vertical
modes with a-dual slope ability on the X- and
Y- axis.
Draw a line of laser light on any surface, to any length you need automatically
from the target. Easily set wall studs and use the RC-40 remote to control the
laser functions. If the laser is bumped or disturbed, it will automatically turn

Fast and highly accurate self-levelling

motors ensure you hit the target first time
and its high-power 2.0mw (max) diode
means you have an 800m diameter
working radius. The RL-H4C features
one of the highest water and dust proof
ratings at IP66, but also has a 635nm
visible beam which means it can also be
used for interior alignment applications
where required.
The RL-H4C Battery pack can be charged

outside the unit allowing the laser to be put into
a secure lock-up during overnight charging.
The package comes with rechargeable batteries
as standard which can be removed without
disturbing the laser set up, dry cell batteries
can then be used to keep you working whilst
the batteries are being charged.

Choose from two models, RL-200 1S single slope, or RL-200 2S dual

slope which both feature Topcons revolutionary encoding system
providing the highest grade repeatability of any laser (7 arc seconds).
A full function backlit radio remote is supplied as standard with the same display
and buttons as the laser giving you full control when away from the laser, change
grade, select menu settings, check operational status and verify battery life, all
without touching the laser.
The RL-200 2S provides dual slopes of +/-10% in single slope or an industry

leading +/- 25% dual slope. The 2S features the same standard accessories as
the 1S except for the addition of the RC-400 remote control that allows you to
change grade, select menu settings, check operational status, and verify battery
life from up to 300m away.
GRADE LEVELLING LASERS
The illuminated displays on the laser and remote also show the masking of
electronic shutters on up to three quadrants avoid interference with other lasers
on site. You can see the chosen rotation speed, selectable remote control
channels and a sensitivity selector for strong winds or calm conditions, and the
Hi-Alert which indicates if the laser has been disturbed preventing inaccurate
work. The RL-200 also come with Topcons exclusive 5 Year Guarantee, the best
factory warranty in the industry.
The RL-SV2S is a low cost solution to those who need easy and accurate results,
but dont necessarily need the extended range or grade range of the RL-100 or
RT-5SA series.

Lay out reference points faster than traditional methods using PLS
crossline lasers which project a perfectly aligned horizontal vertical
beam onto any surface.
The tough and compact PLS-2 is a self-levelling professional line laser and is
perfect for any application that requires a vertical plumb or horizontal level.
The more advanced PLS-180 features a high-power beam that is easy to work
with even in bright sunlit areas; this high beam power also slightly increases the
lasers working range. Another advantage is that the PLS-180 projects a horizontal
and vertical beam on a direct 90 degree angle from the very front of the laser, not
a few feet forward as in most other lasers.
The self-levelling PLS-360 projects a continuous 360 degree line of

reference for horizontal alignment applications such as suspended

The ES (Easy Station) series is a completely new design of total station
delivering the very latest technological advantages in a small, sleek
design.
The ES has a non-prism operating distance of 500m with incredible accuracy
and a pinpoint EDM beam spot to ensure precise measurement.
ADVANCED TOTAL STATIONS
The exclusive LongLink function provides a 300m Bluetooth wireless

communication range. Operate a data collector, carry out accurate field coding
or quickly make setting out decisions, all from the prism pole. LongLink
technology brings a whole new level of capability to your manual field survey or
engineering team, enhancing data collection and dramatically improving stakeout
speed and accuracy.
The ES features an internal communication module allowing
owners to receive on-screen notice of software updates

OS includes Topcons revolutionary new Magnet Onboard
data collection, stakeout, transfer and management software,

The 1000m Non-Prism EDM uses phase shift technology that

has a smaller beam width than other non-prism instruments in
this class. Measurements can be as fast as 0.9 seconds in fine
mode. The Topcon algorithm reduces the noise associated with
non-prism measurements providing an accurate result to most
surfaces over a longer distance. This is true for darker and wet
surfaces where other non-prisms fail. Our smaller beam width
allows Topcon to get measurements up to a fence as well as
through the fence to a building behind. The distance to a prism
is 6000m - Almost twice the distance as the competition!

The FARO Focus3D is a high-speed Terrestrial Laser
Scanner (TLS) offering the most efficient method for
3D measurement and 3D image documentation.
Capture Reality Coordinate your world. Topcons new imaging sensor allows you to define your
world point-by-point, pixel-by-pixel. Work from the part to the whole to accurately and quickly
detail your site in 3 Dimensions.
The instrument is designed for stand-alone operation. Its quick, simple and effective. You are not tied to a PC,
you do not have to worry about power, site work is easy because you are only dealing with one box and one
tripod, just as you would a Total Station. However, if you want to operate your scanner in the traditional way
you can always connect to the PC and see the data as it is being collected.
In only a few minutes, this 3D laser scanner produces

dense point clouds containing millions of points that
provide incredibly detailed 3D colour images of large scale
geometries. Multiple scans from different positions can then
be automatically registered to create a cohesive point cloud,
resembling an exact measureable copy of even the most
complex and large structures.
The GLS-1500 is eye-safe allowing you to work anywhere without worrying about your liability or damaging

- The POWER mode is the quickest way to detect most

What is GPR?
GPR stands for Ground Penetrating Radar, also called Ground Probing Radar and as the name
suggests it is a technique for probing the ground. Like any other radar it works by sending an
electromagnetic wave into the ground and recording the returning signals. These returning signals
contain information about the materials, or to be exact about the changes in materials or parameters
of the ground at different depths.

It is appropriate to use GPR only if there are sharp differences in the properties of the materials being
surveyed. If the differences of the materials are small or their changes are gradual then the returning
signals are difficult to interpret and in many cases just impossible.

Well this is the bit that confuses most people. We are looking for reflections in the ground from the differences
in material. In other words, the signal generated from the antenna will penetrate the ground and then rebound
a signal back to the antenna when it reflects from a buried object. What we see as pictured below are the
reflections (correct term Hyperbola).
Cable strikes result in death, injury and disruption. In line with HSG47
recommendations for safe digging practise you are responsible for
taking steps towards minimising the risks on-site.

The CR:306 is a general purpose digital sound level meter which meets the full requirements

The Protimeter Mini can be used for making rapid moisture

assessments in a wide range of building materials including wood,
masonry, drywall, plaster and concrete. The measuring pins are small
and sharp which means measurements can be taken at the surface
with virtually no mark left behind. The numerical values represent the
actual percent moisture content of wood (%MC). The Protimeter Mini
can be used to determine if the fabric of a building is in a dry, borderline
or damp condition.
An external probe and lead is supplied as standard for taking readings in
awkward positions. Optional accessories include a hammer electrode for
determining moisture gradients in wood and deep wall probes which are

The HygroMaster is a hand-held instrument for taking spot measurements and for logging
humidity and temperature values. Quick measurements of relative humidity, dew point, mixing
ratio and ambient temperature are shown on a split display at the touch of a button. Surface
temperature measurements can also be measured with an optional surface temperature sensor.
A data-logging mode can measure temperature trend analysis if the instrument is left in place for a period of

The Scalex SA2 has 111 built-in and thousands of available user-defined Metric & Imperial scale factors
measuring in inches, feet, yards, miles, centimetres, metres and kilometres. Calculate auto-scale factor from
reduced enlarged or odd-scale drawings and square and cubic dimensions for regular areas and volumes.
Buttons on probe tip let you count items or add fixed lengths as you scale. Create, store and retrieve 2 userdefined scale factors. When user the SA2 a clear audible tone indicates wheel movement and a plus/minus

2. If the purchase price shall not be paid in full with 30 days of
the date hereof the seller may at anytime thereafter require the
buyer forthwith to return the equipment but if the buyer does
not immediately return the equipment the seller shall be entitled
to recover it from the buyer and charge the buyer the cost of so
doing, and the buyer hereby grants a licence to the seller to enter
upon the premises of the buyer to effect such a recovery.
3. The buyer having inspected the equipment, it is agreed that the
equipment is suitable for the buyers purposes and that the seller
shall not be responsible for any defect in the equipment except
insofar as the seller has itself received any assignable guarantee
in which case such guarantee will on request be assigned by the
seller to the buyer.
4. Interest shall be payable on the whole or any part of the
purchase outstanding if it has not been paid in full within 30 days
after it becomes due, such interest to be charged at a rate of
20% per annum on sums outstanding from the date hereof until
the date of payment in full, interest to be calculated on a daily
basis.
5. Customer owned equipment held by Phoenix Survey & Safety
Equipment Ltd shall be held securely for the duration of any
necessary quotation, service and repair work. After the required
work has been completed Phoenix Survey & Safety Equipment
Ltd will make every reasonable effort to contact the owner for
a 3 month period. Should this period lapse without confirmed
contact and instruction from the owner, Phoenix Survey & Safety
Equipment Ltd reserve the right to dispose of customer owned
equipment at their discretion.

Hirer is the party named on the hire documents
The PlanWheel SA2 is the perfect tool for taking accurate scaled measurements from blueprints,
maps and plans. Just select the built-in scale factor to match the plan and roll the PlanWheel.
A simple yet accurate device for monitoring crack movement. This inexpensive system
consists of two acrylic plates which move independently of each other, one has cross
hairs and the other a correlating grid. Attached using screws, an adhesive or even
a combination of both, the cross hairs will move across the grid indicating crack
movement.
1. No property in the goods shall pass until the purchase price and
any interest due has been paid in full and the buyer shell have
custody of the equipment as agent and bailee of the seller only
but shall be responsible for all loss, destruction or damage there
to, and shall store the goods in such a manner as to indicate
clearly that the property remains vested in the seller.

Payment
1. The hire charge accrues on a daily basis from the date of
despatch until the date upon which the equipment returns to the
owner.
3. In those instances where an initial cash hire is paid by credit

card and the hire transaction extends into a continuous hire then
the Owner reserves the right to charge the credit card with any
unpaid charges arising there from on a weekly basis. The Hirer
will be informed by the Owner of such charges as and when they
are incurred.
Hirers Responsibilities
1. Every possible effort has been made to ensure that the
equipment is serviceable and suitable but the hirer must satisfy
himself of this before the start of the hire and the owner is not
liable in any defects, failure or inaccuracies in the equipment.
2. The hirer shall keep the equipment in good repair and condition
and on termination of the hire shall return the equipment in the
same state of repair and condition as it was at the start of the
hire, failing which the hirer shall be liable to the owner for any
loss or damages and costs suffered directly or indirectly by the
owner as a result.
3. The hirer shall use the equipment in Great Britain (not Northern
Ireland) only and shall not permit it to be used elsewhere.
4. The hirer shall use the equipment for its proper purpose only an
shall not hire let or otherwise part with possession of it.
5. The hirer shall insure the equipment in its full replacement value
against all risks of a comprehensive policy.
6. If the equipment is lost stolen or damaged beyond economic
repair the hirer must pay on demand the current retail price as
published.
7. Until payment in full is received for losses or damage the owner
reserves the right to continue any hire charges until payment is
received in full. Hire charges are calculated on weekly basis.
Termination
1. The hiring shall terminate and the hirer shall forthwith return the
equipment to the owner if:a. The agreed term of the hire expires, or
b. Any payment due from the hirer remains unpaid 30 days from the
earlier of the date due or the relevant invoice, or
c. If the hirer is an individual partnership, on an act of insolvency, or
d. If the hirer is a limited company on the appointment of a Receiver
or on the entering of any judgment against the company or on
the initiation of winding up proceedings (whether by resolution,
notice, petition or otherwise) or in any arrangement being made
with creditors or
e. On the hirer giving the owner 7 days written notice of termination.
2. Unpaid hire charges and any other sums due hereunder

incur interest at the rate of 20% per annum (calculated on a
daily basis) from the date of payment whether before or after
judgment.
2. On termination if the hirer does not immediately return the

equipment, the owner shall be entitled to recover it, from the hirer
and charge the hirer the cost of so doing and the hirer hereby
grants a licence to the owner to enter the premises of the hirer to
effect such recovery.
