Pastoral Minute
We are ending the season of Lent, where devoted
Christians are finishing a time of separation from things
that consume our lives. Lent gives Christians an
opportunity to discipline ourselves for 40 days as Jesus
experienced while he was in the wilderness as recorded
in the Gospel of Matthew 4:1-11. Now we are about to
enter into the week of passion and finally the day of
resurrection of Jesus which is the founding truth of our
faith.
Unfortunately, we tend to treat this just as another day
without any excitement. We must examine our hearts to
see another whether our faith in Christ is serious or is it
just something I've been taught and it really doesn't have
any meaning for me.

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast
At the February DMC men’s fellowship breakfast those
who attended had a great meal. There were several
men from DMC and several guests who came to visit.
They enjoyed themselves so much that at our next men's
breakfast on the 27th of March more men came. We
discussed an array of topics that we face as men in this
society. We are planning to set another date in April, so
we can enjoy a healthy breakfast and share from our
hearts. See Pastor Lamar for further details.

Delta Youth Group News

We are living in a time where people are not for sure of

their financial future, can we trust our political leaders like
our city, rural, county, state and government officials?
We are experiencing a spirit of selfishness and mistrust in
our country. The word hope is becoming a mystery.
People are asking for hope, wholeness, security and
unconditional love.

Where do you go to school? Rome Free Academy
What is your favorite subject at school and why? Music.
It's the only thing I'm good at.
What are your hobbies? Singing and dancing.
Who is your family? My dad, mom, sister Jacinta, brother
Josiah, nephew Joshua and Amber Jones. She's like
family to me.
What is your favorite Bible story or Bible hero and why?
The Songs of David because I can relate to him the most.
We seem to have the same thoughts and actions
sometimes.
Who is your favorite hero today and why? My
grandfather. He was the closest person to me when I was
younger. He was wise He did so much.
What are your plans for the future? I am going to go to
Liberty University for 2 years then Boston University or
the Cincinnati Conservatory in Ohio to study musical
theater.

Deeper Fellowship
Pastors Inell and Lamar have started a "deeper
fellowship" which meets on Sundays 630PM at 1201
North George Street. Anyone who is interested in
deepening their faith walk with Jesus Christ is invited and
encouraged to attend. This is an outreach ministry of
Delta UMC, so please share this with family, friends and
anyone who might benefit from an opportunity to draw
closer to God.


• Puzzle fellowship continues each Sunday from 6-8PM at
the Phisters.

RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM
INFORMATION
Laura Sharp would like to inform you about our local
Relay Team. It is named after Sandie Miner, wife of our
previous pastor Art Miner. She passed away from
cancer. So far we have accumulated over $200 towards
our team. The relay takes place on June 5 & 6.
WE NEED WALKERS!!!
On the table in the sanctuary will be registration forms for
anyone who wishes to walk in the relay and raise money
for the team. The first ten registered will receive a free
t-shirt! Also available will be the sign up schedule for
walkers for Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday
morning. Please participate; even a half hour will help!

Also available in the church sanctuary after services will

be $1.00 moons which you can purchase for the
fellowship wall in memory or in honor of anyone you wish.
The luminary forms which are lit on the Saturday evening
ceremony can be purchased for $5 each.
